Brother if I had 200$ in my pocket to spend right now I would do this.

I would buy an LED light with the most "true watts" you can get for under 200.. on lots of those led amazon led light posts.. if you scroll down it will look something like this.....

" - Avg. Power Draw: 136watt"

that means .. this 300 watt light isnt 300 watts... its less than half at 136.

hell.. my 180 watt ufo is only 106 in true wattage pulled from the wall.

find the most "true watt" LED you can find for under 200 and buy it... If they dont list true watts message them and ask.

just to give you an idea.. with my true watt 106 led ufo and 4 150 (40 true watt) cfl's I can get maybe 3 oz dry... thats pushing it too.. I usually can only get 1.5 oz dry .

I'm actually in the market for a new LED light. If there was a badass CREE LED like airwalker speaks of but wasnt god damn 500$ I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

200$ is a shitload of money to me... like its .. eat dinner for 10 days or blow 200$.

I'll say this... I have seen great things done with a mars hydro 300-400 watter.. on 2 plants.

from doing a couple grows now I firmly beleive that 1 90 watt ufo isnt even enough for 1 plant.. It can be if you put a shitload of cfl's around plant as side lighting.

If you do decide to get one of these CREE COB LED things I dont know how many true watts you could get for 200$.. im guessing not a ton.

Someone show me a CREE COB decent LED thats 250-300 true watts for 200$ and I'll buy it right this second.

A man shouldnt have to spend 500$ to grow 4 quarter pound plants with LED. its a god damn shame..

When I read alot about 180 watt ufo's before I bought mine I was told I'd be able to grow 2 plants .. healthy plants to harvest... this was bullshit.. my 180 watt LED will do 1 plant by itself and yield 1 oz dry on a plant thats max 2 feet - 2 inches tall.

If you find anything good in your budget please message me. I'd love to know so I can buy myself one!

cheers brother

This uses Cree COBs. Not the best, most efficient, or very brightest ones, but still, the kind of "tech" I think you actually want and are interested in using. It's also within your budget at $179.
Unfortunately, it's true watts are not 400. Not at all. More like 72-150.

Airwalker.. Say I was to get a 220 true watt LED light... could I do 2 plants with that in a 3x3 space? my closet is bigger than that but I blocked off half of it with white styrofoam panneling and then painted the whole closet flat white.. the walls, floor, ceiling etc.

I dont need QP plants or anything but with my 180 watt ufo I'm lucky to get over 1 oz dry

Hi yall,
I currently have 4 100 cool white cfls (6200 lumens if I rember right). I had originally planned on a all cfl grow but with some heavy research found that it would be insufficient for what I need. Above all I am looking for quality and of course reasonable quantity! I plan on using the cfls with whatever other light source I acuire.

I have found the Galaxy hydro 300w full spectrum. It's cost effective and I have done enough research to come to the conclusion that it is the best for the least amount of money on the led side. I have yet to commit to the idea and have been contimplating using a t5. It's a safer bet price wise but I'm not sure it's the best for me. Basically the more digging I do the less confident about what I should commit to.

Like I said 200$ budget, smell and taste quality #1 priority but like I said I still want a decent yeild. I have about a 3×4 foot grow space. I have to find somthing this week!
Can you link that led? I might buy on too

Vipar 450 on amazon. I can't really recommend things as I haven't grown yet. I'm not gonna try to start a shit show
Good luck with that. I asked about a Vipar and next thing you know all the COB guys are in there saying LED's suck, they're a ripoff, it's Chinese, ONLY COB works, you're a jerk if you buy anything else, blah blah frigidity blah.

I'm still on the fence. Right now, believe it or not, I'm running a 24 year old pulse start 175 watt MH. Just took these pictures a few moments ago of my two little plants. I'm still looking to upgrade, but I think I'm going to play it safe and stick with a MH/HPS lamp for now. Either 400 or 600 watts. I'm still on the fence as to which one though.

I just got a 600w dimmable digital Apollo mh and hps bulbs a timer and a set of hangers 151.00us after tax because it's an American company I guess. You can run it 600 450 and 300. At 300 it beats my led actual wattage by 100. I only got the led because heat was a primary concern of mine and the leds are cool runing and looking as well as low cost compared to kind and blackdog. Same price as my led and I lm just working off wattage 3 times more powerful and probably 10% more efficient.

Here's the two I'm looking at:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/381639947603?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

http://www.ebay.com/itm/252393423844?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

I'm thinking of getting the 600 because I don't grow in a tent so heat isn't really a factor for me. I use a 6 dollar "tent" (cardboard display panels with space blanket Mylar glued to them) with an open top and a fan venting air in.

I have seen good things about yield lab fairly new company as I understand. I prefer amazon over ebay simply for shipping and returns are easy. I made an account and got prime for a month *I canceled that shit cuz prime is high but they still let me keep the prime for a month!* I opted out of the tube hood because it could be easily upgraded and I'm not planning on running ducting and fans for the moment either. Your card board tent sounds sketchy lol

It sounds like you might have gotten stuck with a knockoff. It's been quite a few years but, I've had two UFO's. Both generic I think my most recent one I got like 5 years ago. They are both actually decent little lights. I honestly thibk I could do two plants under either of them. And get more than two O's easily. But, I don't know why my generic lights which both still work perfectly btw, have given me a better experience than many of the critics who have had problems with their LED UFOs. I think I probably just got lucky.

Anyway, a couple of years ago I picked up a 150 watt HPS for $65. What I noticed after I started using it is, less larf and way tighter buds. I still use the 180 as supplemental as well. Like you I grow on a micro scale. Sometimes only one plant and I don't think over harvested more than two. Tho I have started 4.

Anyway, HPS is just tried and true. But, I am seeing all these pros go COB and I am going to try that next. It just seems to be the evolution of things. And it's getting WAY CHEAPER. I could see you getting a good 300 watt COB soon for as little as $200. As soon as the newer most amazing stuff comes out, these already extremely capable older model COBs and drivers are getting cheaper. That's what I am seeing anyway.

Meanwhile. I think I would just keep on waiting it out and continue to use your UFO. I hate to recommend it but early on I used CFL as supplemental with the UFO. My theory is different types of light source brings different beneficial spectrums. I hate to reco CFL, tho it does do the job well enough. Because I see all these CFL setups with wires and fixtures all over the place and it looks dangerous. So. I say wait it out. 6 months I'll bet you will have a great $200 ready built COB, using the same parts that are popular today. And read reviews from reputable and experienced posters.

Lol I used some old lamps around the house for CFLs and I guess I rewired the socket back wards on one and burned up two timers. Not to mention they are way hotter than I imagined

My first grow, I built this giant CFL setup using an old grill top. I painted the inside with chrome paint. Bought a fixture and 4 adjustable sockets. Cut, drilled installed the fixture, soldered the wiring to come out of the top. Included a switch and cord and used small chain link to hang it. And I put in giant 65 real watt CFLs in it. They are big and heavy and cost $25 a piece at that time. I discovered 230 watts of CFL puts off mega heat. lol. So much for the cab I built, had to leave the door open with a fan blowing in along with the exhaust fan. I got 4 ounces tho off an auto. It worked really well. I haven't gotten 4 oz again from one plant since. Haven't really tried tho. I either do autos or 12/12 from seed. I like small plants anyway.

Yeah, CFLs are like what most newbies start with. lol. That was more than 6 years ago tho so. Just lol.

You went from a $100 budget to a $200 budget in a few days..... save up a couple hundred more and get a 400 watt HID and exhaust system. Shit for like $400 and change you can order a complete grow set up with a small tent. Air flow is a big deal bro

I've got Amazon prime. But Amazon doesn't take PayPal and I got most of my money on PayPal from selling old guitar parts and foot pedals, so I use Ebay to spend it.

Can you source me a couple of cheap string ball retainers for an old Westone Dynasty from the 80's? Like 5 or 10, I can't find them. They are simple but, it would probably cost a small fortune to have them made. This is the tremolo and I don't wanna replace it and go through all that luthier stuff. I just need a couple of balls. Thanks bro if you can. See pic look at the little hooks that hold the string claws. I know the guitar is a piece of crap, but the action is perfect and the sound is unique. I don't wanna change anything.

I would certainly appreciate any guidance.
