Hello folks,
So I have researched tirelessly all weekend for lights under 200$. I found a affordable Galaxyhydro 300w Led set up for 99. It's the best light I have found so far in my price point that I feel comfortable buying.

So having said that I have continued to research and feel even more lost. Hid lights are not really a good option for me. Hot and mostly I worry about burning things. So I'm between led and t5 lights.
I already have ×4 cool white 100 cfls I have allready invested in that I plan on using with.

My budget is 200 max tax and all. What gets me the best bang for my buck. My end goal is quality quality quality! And of course yeild as well.Help me out yall!

Hi yall,
I currently have 4 100 cool white cfls (6200 lumens if I rember right). I had originally planned on a all cfl grow but with some heavy research found that it would be insufficient for what I need. Above all I am looking for quality and of course reasonable quantity! I plan on using the cfls with whatever other light source I acuire.

I have found the Galaxy hydro 300w full spectrum. It's cost effective and I have done enough research to come to the conclusion that it is the best for the least amount of money on the led side. I have yet to commit to the idea and have been contimplating using a t5. It's a safer bet price wise but I'm not sure it's the best for me. Basically the more digging I do the less confident about what I should commit to.

Like I said 200$ budget, smell and taste quality #1 priority but like I said I still want a decent yeild. I have about a 3×4 foot grow space. I have to find somthing this week!

No, not the mars/galaxy 300! If you are going that route of LED then look at Viparspectras line. Cost slightly more but 10x better.
What size footprint will you be making?
@Olive Drab Green is the king of Visparspectra far I'm concerned. He is working the 450 model like a champion. Check out his grow blog. I am impressed by this line of LEDs cheap and works well.

Not a COB but next best thing if dollars are tight to start with.

8 bar T5's are cool with the spectral control but lack of IR/UV and changing bulbs keeps me away. The price a good 8 light t5 costs I can step into something better. #IMO

Can you get results with the 300w ( the biggest thing a saw on these cheap models is the actual output is not as they claim

Some people here like some of the cheaper Chinese LEDs like Vipar and others do not like them.

Something like this is about $133 with a 600 watt HPS with a bulb for veg and flower. It is also dimmable.

1000 watt dimmable with 2 bulbs $199.99 delivered.

Cheaper Chinese LED versus HPS lights? I prefer HPS. the LEDs are good if they are top of the line or DIY COB LEDs.
Though there are quite a few guys here using cheaper LEDs in grow tents doing very well.

The 300 specs.

Eff = 33.31m/w
Specifications:
- Dimensions: 12.6x7.9x3 inches
- Item Weight: 5.6 lbs
- Replaces a 250 watt HPS/MH
- Use for all stages of plant growth
- Max Coverage at 24" Height 3x3ft
- Core Coverage at 24" Height 2x2ft
- Avg. Power Draw: 136watt
- (60pcs) High Intensity 5Watt Bridgelux/Epileds LED Chips
- LEDs Angle: 90°
- Input Voltage: AC100-240V

You can grow with it but the footprint is 2 ft/M2 max.
Minimum I would do 2 300's to get some decent footprint going.

Check him out he has a couple big plants under the 450 bud is full stem top to bottom.

The has lights make me nervous. Great price wise but I'm using a closet and worry about the heat and possibly fires.

in that price range you would be better off with an 8 bulb T5 or an HID if you can provide a good cooling system for it and have the vertical room for HIDs. I use a 4 bulb T5HO lamp in a 2ft by 5 foot closet with no vent or blower and it works well for me. yield will depend on a lot of factors including the strain you grow and your experience.good luck

What's the price point of that? Can I get any fixture and put t5ho in them?

Dude.

Get yourself a couple citizens for $26/ec a Pairui driver and build yourself a fuckin cob light. And don't tell me you're not technically inclined. You can do it, trust me.

Buy 5 of these:

https://cobkits.com/product/citizen-clu048-1818-80cri-choice-of-color-temps/

Wire them to a driver and go for it

Or buy 4 of these already made, build a frame and avoid the regret of buying a Blurple light. Blurple is GREAT in conjunction WITH cobs. But NOT alone.
