I picked up some WW & NL clones in rockwool with the roots coming out that were started on 12/30/10 and picked them up on 1/10/11....I put them in beer cups with happy frog soil...on the 1/11/11 under a t5 8 tube 6500 bulbs.......lights are on 24hrs.... the 1st couple of days plants looked good a few were limp.......water with reg tap.....i took a sample to a hydro store and they tested it and the guy said it was pretty good.....

(see pics) 144-155

Today makes it a week and a few have wilted away......and i do have some yellowish spots on some the the leaves......(i did add not even a tsp of ff big grow) just to see what would happen....that was on last thursday......now they look like this........ (see pics) 157- 160....

I was wondering how long I should veg in these cups its been only 7days in the cups , before putting them into 3g buckets and throwing them under 1000whps for 12-12....?

Also i have gnats.......flying around, anything that i can use to get rid of them.........Any info or ideas about what I need to do would be appreciated.........:wall:

Don't water the soil - let the roots do some "searching" for a few days. Also keep the humidity high (70-80%) and the temps toasty (mid 80s). Lay off the Big Bloom, happy frog is probably shocking enough to them. They look decent in my opinion but, remember keep it simple. They're probably happy to finally be in some soil--and you got LOTS of clones there so if you want to try something (like ferts or watering) do a control test on just a few.

As far as those going limp and dying, if you didn't see too many roots coming out of the rockwool then they may not have been established enough to plant. I'm just guessing here.

I would let them go until you see roots starting to develop around the sides of the cup.

For gnats, you should survey the problem and decide how serious it is. An organic spray might kill the gnats quite effectively, but if you have larvae in your medium then you need to treat that with Bacillus Thuringiensis. It is a beneficial bacteria that is simply known as "BT". Just make sure you get the one for caterpillars, it is the one that works on gnats. Other formulations don't work for gnats, so again BT for caterpillars is what you need. Most any hydro store or nursery will have this. If you google it, it is everywhere.

I hope this helps....

might be a drainage problem also, is it just those tiny holes on the sides? how many if so? it'd explain the gnats and the limping if they were over watered
