1st try at DWC

This is my 1st indoor grow, tried outside last year but got killed by caterpillars.I made my setup using 2 5 gallon buckets in a 4X6 grow tent.I had no idea what i was doing, bought an air pump that works in a fish tank with an air stone, drilled a 1/4 in hole in the top of the bucket and works to aerate the water in the bucket similar to the way it does in a fish tank, bought lids for the buckets at the hydro store and here are some pics of my girls,they are shaluman as you can see they are doing OK they are almost 6 weeks old now.I am using 1000 wt light

Definately keeping an eye on this as I'm considering DWC for my next grow,

Hope you don't mind if I ask a few questions;

1) How did you germinate the seeds \ cutting

2) You have 2 5 gallon buckets, how much water in each bucket

3) What nutrients are you using in the water

4) What light cycle

5) If I want to grow 5 plants, Will I need 5 air pumps

Sorry for all the questions

looks good, hope it keeps going well !

They look great and all,

But, what about the flowering space?

Flowering plants may double/triple in size/heighth when you initiate 12/12.

I hope you have a tall ceiling, because them plants are gonna out grow that setup.

Best of luck buddy, you just need to do a lil more homework is all :)

I too use the same buckets. I also use the same lids and I also use three inch lids in the lowes lid. It cuts easily with a razor blade. Guess what? Are 8 inch or 6 in net pot lids suck! They take up space and are a pain. Use the three inch net pots and just stick them in the lid. I am growing 5 month old trees that are three by three feet topped and tied down and have stems as big as a roll of qiarters plus some. The tree leans a little but that is easy to balance and it stays. I use it to get light to all buds. I almost lost a lavender donator plant cuz those stupid netpot lids are such a pain. Ypu lose about two gal of root space too. I am not an expert on the space thing yet. But I found out that so far my three month or four month old plant with its huge roots love the whole bucket and takes about a gal if you count the water space it uses. But it loved to stretch out. Also three inch pots are way cheaper!
