This is my first grow ever, I picked up a used Producer on craigslist, came with everything and a second airpump hooked up so I have six airstones. I have a shed in our back yard which is currently being outfitted to house this- I am putting in sound proof installation to keep everything on the dl.. My electrician has not come by yet so it is not powered so i am using an extension cord from my house. eventually it will have an air conditioner and vent out the floor, but my clones were ready so I got started with the CFL and a fan- it has hit 29 C here. 18 Bubba Kush clones with 7ml sensigrow A and B and 16 ml Voodoo Juice, in 9 gallons of water- ph 5.6. They were grown in peat and I put the peat plugs into 3 inch rockwool.

4 days later- plants are somewhat bigger, but nothing that would show in a photo, but lots of small new leaves are appearing and one of the plants has roots protruding through the rockwell. The Ph is making me nuts, it climbs continuously through out the day, i am adding ph down three times a day to keep it between 5.6-6. I am hoping on Friday to switch on the metal halides and with the new nutrients have a more balanced ph level. So far I am liking the producer, it is very well made with good components, my only issue with it has been draining the nutrient solution- as everyone else says it is a real pain to get the last 3rd. I am going to by an auxiliary pump. In my shed heat is an issue so I picked up an air conditioner which should work. I almost have all the sheet rock up so I will be able to put up venting to vent the exhaust from the chamber and lights out the bottom of the shed to alleviate some of the heat

ph is settling down, and i think i have solved the drooping problem, i put an air conditioner in the shed. some of the plants have really good roots, a few have non- will get pics later

The shed is finally finished soundproofed and vented, and i am starting to see most of my plants get healthy with the AC. I am really liking the producer but i do see heat being an issue in the summer, i am lucky that this is in my own shed and i can put anything in i want and vent however i want- i can't see this working well in a closet in an apartment

switching to flowering on saturday. the box is really good for a first time grower, but i don't see how you could use it in summer with the doors closed. i have the door open with an air conditioner pointed at it, and the air from the lights vented through the floor

if ya can cool the shed down to 65 your box should be at 75 or less.i run mine at night 6-6 to hot during the day..what strain are you running?i have outgrown mine and want to sell it..you ever think about selling yours and making that shed into a flowering room?

they are bubba kush. i have a license for 15 plants so this is the perfect starter set up for me. at some point i probably will ditch it and go with my own set up, but the learning curve has been great for me. i went to 4 different hydro stores and all 4 owners tried to sell me 4 different set ups, and one of them had no idea about what he was trying to sell me. after i have a few grows under my belt i will probably make my own set up

Thanks for starting this. Looking to pick up my own Producer here in the next month or so. I look forward to following the rest of your grow mate. What do you notice about sound level with your unit? Given my current living situation I might be putting this in my bedroom. Am I going to have to put up with a lot of racket?

it's not that bad but remember this the key to having one of these units is to run it at night,so you get cooler temps...make sure you get the collars to move the hot air out of the room if not your gonna have an 800 watt heater..to be honest bro your better off getting a grow tent..it's alot cheaper and ya can grow bigger plants.

exactly what maphisto said!! it is an excellent unit for someone who has never grown before, and the unit is built really well with high quality components. the wiring looks like it could have come out of the sony factory, it is that professional. but heat is definitely an issue. mine is currently running during the day, but my next crop will be at night. I have the door to the producer open with a portable air conditioner pointed at it. I also have the vents from the lights ducted into a 6 inch 450cfm vortex fan that vents out the bottom of my shed. on the plus side, when the cold weather comes it will do a nice job of warming the shed. as for noise, it is not a lot of racket, but certainly it would be equal to a 15 year old refrigerator that is constantly on, and if you add a vortex fan that is like a hair dryer on low. I picked mine up for $1800 with all the nutes. I could not have bought all the components for that much up here in canada, and the people at bcnl have been very helpful when i have called them with questions. I am very happy with mine, but i think however someone sets one up they will have to tailor there situation a bit to suit it. mine is now set up great!!!

try and keep the door closed it's painted white fpr a reason so the light bounces off of it.im afraid if ya keep the door open you would loose a lil yield..

that is a nice looking bud!!!!!. I will see if i can keep the temp down with the door closed, otherwise might have to wait until next crop which i will grow at night.

1st week of flowering. I have had a slight issue with some root slime, h2o2 has been controlling it but not eradicating it and preventing me from using some of the nutes i want to- sensizym and voodoo juice. my hydro store did not have everything needed for heisenberg tea, but they have ordered it for me and as soon as it is in i am brewing a batch

the person at the shop suggested Clean Slate to use while i am waiting for my tea supplies, i put it in today, I will know more later but in a few hours it looks like it has either kicked ass or caused a whole knew set of issues. I am hoping for kicks ass- in a few hours it appears that the slime that was on my roots has turned black- very black and fallen off into the res. ,the res has black stuff floating around in it, but it looks DEAD, so I am hoping this will do the trick until my tea is ready.
