I plan on topping once or twice or fimming once- maybe I'll top 2 plants and fim 2 others, and leave one to just lst. Might do the same with super cropping. Just super crop one topped and one fimmed plant, all before goin under the screen-run a little experiment  dunno if I wanna lollipop or not yet when that screen is filled out, I'll just play it by ear
The guy at the plant store sold me house and garden nutrients- well see how that goes.

Day 8

Babies are starting to sprout their second set of serrated leaves a little bit. I believe it was 2 nights ago that I left them under the kitchen light a long time and one of them was on its side. But I'm leaving my place for a day or two. What's the best thing I should do? Leave them under the light the whole time, or by a windowsill or on/ close to my balcony where they will get a lot of indirect light and a few hours of direct sunlight ?

Im sure if its just for a day, and the environment doesn't dry out the rockwool, I think they would be fine under the light.

Yea your right I ended up leaving them by the window tho, think I'll be back tonight so it's all good :D I gotta go buy a thermal curtain tho. My grow tent gets too hot in the afternoon cause the sun is directly hitting a large window that it's touching

I feel you man I'm on a ramen noodle and beanie weenies type of diet right now until August lol I put damn near everything into the equipment. Hoping a heat curtain will suffice ! Temp was reading 90s too and I don't have plants or the COBs running yet. But it's just in the afternoon for a few hours until the sun sets. But it's supposed to get hot af in July and August supposedly. Think if I can get down to mid or low 80s I'll b in the clear

Just stocked up on groceries for the week too lol ...need a variety so I don't get tired of em. Put everything I had into this project and my girl supports me 100%, eating ramen noodles right alongside me

Day 13 (or 14?)

Today I decided to move my plants into bigger rock wool cubes. They were having roots poking out a bit but the roots seemed to turn a bit brownish at the tips, I don't know if maybe the plastic tray was burning the tips or somethin, but hopefully moving them into the bigger containers will be a good move.

They are fillin out their second serrated leaf set and will start on the third soon. Dunno if I'm on time or early or late what ya think? Is it moving slow or am I just a bit impatient at the moment? Lol

Light will hasn't come in yet!!

that browning was the roots drying out so good move putting em in bigger cubes. I honeslty think that if you have the extra 30$ you should get some General Hydroponics micro and bloom and use the lucas formula. Its really simple for a beginners and very forgiving(for the most part). And yeah its moving a little slow but that's just because you don't really have a good light source yet ;) ...just don't get impatient and over water, and def don't feed yet unless its like 1/8th dose or something lol whats the npk on your nutes?

Hey guys update time!
Day 17
June 6

So I have to stay at my girls place for a few days so I decided to bring my babies along with me!
Brought them out onto her porch at 6 in the morning until around 1:30 ish in the afternoon. And I noticed they were loving that direct early daylight! One of them is a yellow where those first two "baby" leaves sprouted but the other leaves are green. Once the sun has passed over the porch and they are in the shade I'll keep them in the shade a bit until I bring them in and I'm just using my girls lamp shade LOL, seems like it will suffice for the moment. Still look a bit small to me but I can't complain it's all patience! They are just now starting to grow a new set of leaves that will now have three blades instead of one.

Hopefully when I get them back to my apartment my light will be in! *fingers crossed* and I'll start putting them on a light feeding schedule

Day 22 from seed

Got some really good news today! I was wondering about my light so I finally sent an email to cutter in Australia and they sent me one back for tracking info and I guess they had it sitting in the warehouse but finally sent it out today so I feel a lot better about that.

Yesterday I gave the plants their first feeding, which I probably could have started before. And they seem to really like the food! Got them sitting on my girls balcony enjoying the sun until they'll be in the shade or under the lamp again I think my girl has a 25watt CFL. Not too sure

When should I begin topping?

Man they look great! They are really gonna start taking off now once they take in those nutrients.

As for your topping question....based on your pictures, they are pushing out their 2nd set of true leaves. I always top at the 4th set of trues. It looks like you don't have much longer before doing that.

Thanks man! So they should have 4 leaf sets after I take off the top?

Right now I believe they are pushing out their 3rd set of leaves at the moment. If I'm not counting the baby spout leaves nor the 1st set with only one blade. The light came in yesterday! But I wasn't in town so I receive it tomorrow then I gotta run up to the hardware store to buy some stuff to put the kit together.

I gave the babies their second feeding today. And the roots in all 5 cubes are poking out! Roots look good and healthy so now I just got to get my light together and put them in their clay pebbles.

If ya got any tips for me taking better pics lemme know!

Its not an exact thing as far as topping. Once you've done it a few times, you'll know more or less when it should get done. i pinch it off so i do kind of an FIM / topping / pinching. They all serve the same purpose really.

I post the worst pics ever lol but i feel like as long as what you are trying to photograph comes out somewhat decent then who cares ?

And yes, by topping you will 4 tops...which in theory means more yield

If you look at some of those pics there's a green hedge just above a small field in the background... I wanna throw some seeds there was why I was asking you about the fox farm soil, if I have to add nutes or just plain water. Wanna dig a hole and put some plants in 3 gal grow bags and hide them behind the hedge. I've been watching the sun and it shines bright there allllll day long. It's blocked from view from 3 sides and the 4th side it's only visible from the street which is fenced off

I wouldn't put a plant down in that area, it looks way too visible and accessible to me.

Don't go crazy with too many plants right off the bat - It's easy to get overwhelmed when little things pop up. Do you already have all of your buckets and stuff set up, just waiting on the light?

Yep I got everything set up and actually I got the kit yesterday :) so I gotta run up to the hardware store to pick up the rest of the stuff to assemble the lights. But I talked with my best bud yesterday about going hiking into the forest to find some spots in the middle of nowhere away from people. Not gonna put em down behind the hedges in the pic

Hey guys! Long time since update.

So! I got my light in and I've started building it. I got to go pick up a few more materials.

As far as the plants go I topped 2 of them. I left the two smallest ones alone because I don't feel like I want to stunt their growth and I left the biggest one alone as well for the meantime. So let's see how it goes!
