Hi there!

This is my second time posting this because for some reason its not showing up or something saying my forum has to be approved or whatever so this is try #2! I'm copying part of the beggining from Cannabis Culture forum and then updating you all in on the rest, accept my forum I type too much too lose it all >.<!

"Cannabis Culture Forum with updated information"

This is my first time growing, I have had my system set up since about february 25th. I initially started out with my set-up in a closet in my hallway using the stealth hydro multi-spectrum flourescent lighting system and basic kit seen here: ( http://www.stealthhydroponics.com/produc...083081fbbb98b45 ).

I induced flowering on the plants after about 5 weeks of vegetative and have had them flowering now since march 27th, or 32 days now. The first 2 days of flowering were still in the closet with the fluorescents, I then invested in a hydrofarm indoor greenhouse, 3.5 x 3.5 by 6.5 feet tall with carbon filter and exhaust fan, and also on that same day my new 430W HPS Son Agro light arrived to replace the fluorescents.

The Closet before the move

New HydroFarm After the Move

Strains:
I started out with multiple strains including: "Le Fruit Defendu" Forbidden Fruit, Caramelicious (which can be seen here http://www.amsterdammarijuanaseeds.com/p...on=show_product "its the link for forbidden fruit, but caramel is in their seed shop if you wanna see it." I was given a free strain also from the same site that I have dubbed mystery weed since they didn't name the strain. I also had what were supposed to be Skunk seeds given to me from a guy who said he grows outdoors (but from the extent of his knowledge on growing seems to only know how to throw seeds in the ground and return in three months with fingers crossed), P.S. his seeds were bad and all his plants I grew died. And finally I got some really good ass chronic off my mom last time I was home, (think its from her sister who grows :P) and dug through her stash looking for seeds and brought some back and planted one which has done really well, I have dubbed it Mom's Weed.

Current Updates:

During the Vegetative stage in the closet my caramelicious and skunk strains didn't recieve enough light because of the size in the closet and from all the cover of the other bigger plants and when I finally moved them into the hydrofarm and noticed they just looked so dead it wasn't worth it so I just cut them since they were taking light. At the beggining of the Flowering stage I had 5 plants left over, 2 "Le Fruit Defendu" or Forbidden fruit, 2 Mystery Weed, and one of Mom's Weed. After about the first 10 days of flowering I noticed what seemed to be male traits in my biggest guy or forbidden which was 28" at the time, finally when I could get close enough with a camera I snapped some pics and dropped em on cannabis culture to see what people thought and once I was sure cut the boy off at his stem as I have no room for him now :-P.

Proof he was a man!

He was hoggin the light anyways...

The room is so bare without em :-P

updates continued...
After he was removed it was about another week til I could tell any of the plants were female. The first to show signs is my biggest plant my 27" forbidden fruit. The second to show signs came a few days later which is my smallest plant of Mom's weed that is roughly 18-19" tall. Finally the mystery weed strains took the longest but about a week ago started showing pistils and now are starting to bud, one 23" and one is 24" tall. The forbidden fruit is way ahead of all the other strains and I was able to obtain some excellent bud shots which nobody has commented on yet so tell me what you think, these are from 4 days ago, I will try to get some newer pics soon.

Forbidden Fruit Top 4/22

And I will post more soon, I think I typed more yesterday the first time making this but if I lose this all again I'm gonna be pissed so enjoy what I gave ya for now and updates will come soon!

Forgot to put this last nice as well. For anyone who is using the basic Bubbleponics system from the company with their nutrient packs they send you, you need to know to go out and buy some Epsom Salt from the drug store when you change to the flowering stage or you will end up with a bunch of yellow leaves and a Magnesium deficiency. The best way to take care of this in a basic stealth hydro system is to add 1 teaspoon of Epsom Salt for every gallon of water in your rez. I myself usually add 6 teaspoons to the basic system since thats about how high I fill it.

Thanks.

PICTURE Update!
Day 35

Here are the updated pics, its been 7-8 days since my last pictures so here is a huge refresher of where everything is at now.

Forbidden fruit is really budding up all over, she has thick pistils and in the last few days has started to really coat her leaves with trichromes which you can see in the pictures, she is really starting to look like a pot plant should to me! Only now have I started to smell the strain a bit and I can get a hint of a fruity smell from its genetics (Light of Jah crossed with Blueberry). This girl has spread her pistils all over and I'm excited to really see how much she coats those stems with buds. She is taking up a lot of room and amazingly these 4 plants fill up most the space in my 3.5x3.5 grow room, 35% of that space is taken by the forbidden.

Moms Weed is still taking her time to start up but I have a feeling will look more like forbidden fruit in her own sense in a week. She has super duper thin pistils and has always has a super sweet skunky smell from week one. Based on the smoke I had on it and also the way the plant looks I think that this strain is either an Indica or Afghanica. It's extremely bushy with HUGE fan leaves that were as thick as my biggest forbidden fruit fan leaves are now at only week 2. I has some trouble getting a picture of the top of the plant but funny enough my moms plant has one stem growing from the bottom that is almost thicker than the mainstem and is a bit ahead and I got a great top of the cola shot for you of the start of its pistils now :).

Mystery Weed has been taking its time but is actually just a tiny bit behind moms weed. I had a little bit of trouble getting some shots of the tops of both my twins because none of the tops have enough pistils or mass quite yet on one of the cola's to get a good shot but I still have a few that you can see if you look closely. These girls are both pretty big themselves and I expect to actually be about equivalent to the forbidden fruit, they are very near size. I have tried and tried to smell and have not noticed one yet, though I have the carbon filter, I am just going to wait til they bud more to try, until then it truly is mystery weed. The information I have on it is that it is a sativa/indica mix, but these were free seeds from the company and thats all the answer they gave me to what they were besides that a grower sent them in to share.

Tell me what you think of the updated pics!

Lots of folks are bad mouthing stealth hydro all the time because the theory is that 6 plants root systems can not be supported in the tub system here. I have not had 6 going I only have 4 but with 4 the root system is gigantic and almost fills the entire tub now. I will try to have some root shots up eventually for all to see. As far as filling my resevoir back up I wait til the res is just a tiny bit above the water line and then I empty the resevoir completely, fill the rez half way full with clean fresh water, empty that out again to get out all the excess nutrients and fill it with a fresh batch. When I did have more plants going before I cut my male and a few other plants I was having to fill my rez back up about every 6 days. Now with only 4 plants its about every 6-8 days. You can easily get the extendable resevoir for a stealth hydro system, but as far as the forums your reading there is reason to question the system and I would not be surprised if I had trouble doing all 6 plants in here. I also think the spacing between the plants is too close in the stealth hydro system. The easiest thing to do is just go out and buy a big plastic tub, cut holes for 3-4 inch net pots, go grab some of the pumps and stuff that they have on stealths website or similar with a bubble disk and just do it on your own, but the stealth hydro system is simple and makes it easy to figure out.
As far as the service end goes my first system took maybe 3 and a half weeks to ship, I just kept calling to get on their ass about it every few days. I had trouble with my 430watt HPS son agro light and ballast taking a while from them as well, took a bit more than a month, but luckily came 2 days after I induced flowering so everything was all in well.

Thanks skunk! I actually really liked your post on bubbleponics compared to soil and have checked it a few times now so I am glad to see you posted on my thread! Do you have a forum up with pics of your home made 8 pot system? And also what kinds of nutrients are you using? I'm looking into using different nutes than the stealth ones for future and just am trying to get an idea what all is needed. I will be updating pictures once a week so check back in a few days, the mystery weeds twin girls are starting to show their pistils everywhere and my forbidden fruit is getting more crystalized and bushy by the day, excited to show you all more, check back soon!

No nagging on the technique..just heard bad things about the company which peddles the things. Also trying to figger out if one of these deals really need a submergible pump and individual misting or dripping etc. Lot of folks speak of using the system with highly aereated water. Like an air pump for a fish tank. Whutcha think?

My system uses the bubbledisk I got with it for aeration but I have heard from some people like Earl that you can use the fish tank air pump as well. The drip system is not needed but I find really helps support the roots of your system in early growth. Like said before, I think bubbleponics is mostly deep water culture with the pumps only being important until the roots reach the resevoir. I actually find the water pumps helps later on just to give the roots at the top just a little bit more water as well, though many of the holes in my pump have clogged and only a few are still shooting water out and I am not keen to take it out and look at it until this grow is done, so I am just depending on my system being Deep Water Culture like I said. For my next grow I would like to re-build this in a bigger tub and get a better water pump with bigger hoses, and also will not use the companies nutrients in future grows.

Hey all, just thought I would add my two cents. I am one of the peeps here that have bad mouthed SH. I had a horrible time with their customer service, and my kit took nearly 2 months to arrive, and they forgot certain things in the box, told me they would send them, and never did. Second, I didn't know when I bought it, cause i was a noob, but I could build the entire thing for 35 bucks, minus the lights, so essentially, they are a huge ripoff. Not to mention they tack on 10-35 bucks on each light.

HOWEVER, the technology behind the design is perfect. The pump is essential for early and very fast growth, I have tried with and without it, and it really helps early on. The nutes that SH use sorta blow, I switched to foxfarm and have had great success since the switch. I also added a T to my air tube and added another air stone which has really helped. I wouldn't try growing more than 3 plants on it because with the good fox farm nutes the roots get wayyyyy to huge and thick.

I have gotten some great experience with the system, so any questions just ask dudes.

P.S. I'm high as fuck on a wonderful bush I chopped two weeks ago from my bubbleponics system :D YUM

The bubbledisk came with the kit when I bought it bionic but I imagine you could probably buy the disk for $5-10 and the air pump for it for $10-15. Zoe I agree that the stealth hydro system is a very basic system that most of us can set up ourselves and is a rip off. I think if you really look at stealth hydro, its market and the people who are buying from them though, a majority are noob growers like myself who want something easy that they'll understand. What sold me into buying stealth hydro instead of maybe investing in a better system from another company? A VIDEO!!! No matter what anyone says stealth hydro is one of the only companies out there who's put good money into their advertising campaign, especially as something appealing for noobs who don't even understand what hydro is. If you were like me then you used to think hydro was just pot grown indoors! Most of the other systems you see online you cant get a lot of info besides on the forums on, and as you all know, you don't end up on the forums until you start having trouble with stealth hydro! Yes Stealth Hydro is not the greatest company in the world, but they capitalized on a cheap easy idea and I think are doing a pretty good job (as a company).

Zoe link one of the forums of your grows, I can't find any of your threads, would love to see more. What kinds of nuutrients are you using in all? I am looking into switching, thanks!

I started my grow first grow with the SH nutes. Since then I have using the 3 bottle fox farm liquids with the fox farm solubles, and superthrive. I am using about 400watts of flouros right now. In 2 months I will be getting an HPS.

The kit comes with a bubble disc, I recommend buying a second, or even a third. The roots love the bubbles and the more bubbles the less chance of root rot. Also, I have heard some people say the kit has problems with organic nutes; I have never had a problem though.
