Hellllloooo!!
So im starting a thread to show what ive done so far and am doing atm!

Im using a cab i built myself out of malaysian wood and its 60cm X 60cm X 80cm
im growing 2x afghan kush ryder auto and 1x blue himalaya auto (as 1 of the BH didnt germinate:evil:) so far im upto day 9 (counting from the day the seed went into the pot) and they look ok i guess as i dont know how they should look haha.
the BH seems to be growing faster in leaf size but the 2 afghan are taller but not as big leafs, and afghan1 has burnt tips but i dont think it was from the light :? and afghan2 seems to be showing a yellow colour out the middle.. i have been feeding just water and only giving 500ml of water but im not sure if thats enough because they are in 5litre pots and their currently 3.5inches off the light..Anyway let me know what you think so far please and here is some pictures of the days gone by.. Peace

Looking good there. They often are yellow when they pop.

They are a bit stretched. Lower the light. Do it in steps but get it down to about 1" above the plant tops.

Absolutely no nutes for a week mebbe longer since she is in MG soil. (you should check with the growers who use MG and see what they do). She has a lot of food stored in the cotyledons.

Hello there zvuv, the light is around 3" off the plants and im scared to lower it any more because the tips of the leaves on the afghan have got a lil burnt, the temp averages 29C. As for nutes i will not be givin them any untill week 5 and will only do it untill week 7 as i dont want to over nute due to the MG soil.

Thanks again for the advice buddy will keep updating. Happy toking :D

Thanks buddy

I'm growing a Afghan Kush Ryder and a Afghan Kush Legend Collection from World of Seeds. I've grown both the auto and the regular photoperiod plant before. I grew them both at the same time so it was really cool to have big sister and "mini me" plant right next to it. Everyone who tried the Afghan Kush liked it and in a blind taste test it was very hard to tell the ruderalis from the afghanica. It has a unique sweet smell when it get's mature and the buds start to turn a greyish color like it has a 5 o clock shadow. If you are looking for a true landrace Afghani for breeding projects or just to try growing a pure landrace afghani I would recommend the world of seeds stock. One thing to keep in mind though, do not order their Black Domina x Afghani cross because I've ordered 2 packs costing a lot of money and I could not get 1 stinking seed to germinate. Really cannot say enough good stuff about these Afghan Kush ryders. If you are looking for an autoflower strain that gives you a good yield (I got over half an ounce dried off 1 plant, pretty good for an auto) then I HiGHLY recommend you give them a try.

Little update of how things are going for me so far into DAY11 any help/advice is much appreciated as my blue himalaya seems to have a lil issue with its leaves, its like their too heavy or something and also the afghan2 on the right side has a bit of red/purple near the top of the stem and im abit worried about it even tho the yellowing on the leaves seems to be going away... anyway here is a pic of my babies in day 11.

All 3 in day 11

This is afghan1 she is about 3.5" tall and the tips of the bigger leaves are a lil burnt
day11,.jpg
This is the Blue Himalaya, she is about 2.5" tall but seems to be the faster growing of the 3, but the leaves are pointing down and i dont no if this is normal or what i should do? any help would be much appreciated.

And this is Afghan2, she is 3" tall and the yellowing on the top seems to be going but now she is abit purple/red on the top of the stem..??

Also i watered all 3 on day 8 with 500ml of water but then on day 9 they seemed as if they didnt have enough water so i gave them a further 250ml of water.
They are in 5litre pots(1.1/4 gallon). Temp averages 30C so the soil does feel dryish. i have not fed nutes and wont untill they start flowering because i am using miracle grow.

Any help is much appreciated :)
Thanks for looking and Happy farming :D

I used 3 or 5 gallon Smart Pots with FF Ocean Forrest and I vegged the plants under T5s. When the plant started budding I moved them into my flower room where I have 2 1000 watt HPS. A Eye Hortilux that throws a lot of blue and a Sunmaster that throws a lot of orange. I probably would have gotten better yields if the lights were not on a 12/12 schedule but I had other plants growing at the time that required 12/12. The autoflower took a bit longer than usual to get to the maturity I like (I like to make sure my weed is completely mature before I harvest). It probably had to do with the lights being on 12/12. I've read that to get autos to mature faster and get a bigger yield you can lengthen the "ON" time.

They look good. The afghan looks a little droopy. If you can manage a properly focussed picture without the cfls burning, it would be good to check her color.

In the meantime I would mist her and put a clear plastic cup over her so that her leaves dont have to transpire so much. There is the possibility of spraying some nitrogen fertilizer on her leaves. Thats a way to give her a shot of N without burning her roots. But it would be good to see exactly what's going on with the leaves.

They all look very good but two are a little droopy. It may be the heat from the lamps. Have you checked the temps? The wattage seems about right for your cab but you have to watch the heat.

Now that you have real plants, you want to get them as close to the light as you can without inducing heat stress. With cfls you have to be right up close. The light intensity falls away very rapidly with fluoros. The more light you pump into them, the faster and bigger they will grow.

If you can pick up a couple of small 2200K cfls the plants will appreciate it. Even though they are vegging they like a bit of red.

In another week you might see preflowers appear. Could even be sooner. It depends on the strain.
