1st Grow! 2x Afghan Kush Ryder & 1x Blue Himalaya Auto 290w CFL

Seal, they are looking good so far except the leaves seem to be curling up, put you hand at the level of the canopy and see if the heat is uncomfortable for your hand, if it is move the light a bit further away. If that's not the problem idk why the leaves are doing that but I'm pretty sure that's the problem because the lower leaves aren't curling.

Sean Tom you are trying to hijack this thread, thats a no no, nice stay either way.

yessir those are looking awesome! imma keep a close eye on these because i was thinking of doing a str8 auto grow next round
ye i did it because its much faster apprently then photoperiod, but if i get too convinced that a photo would produce alot more then my next grow may be photo, anyway thanks for lookin and thanks for the compliment +rep :D

Looking good seal, keep it going mate, was it biobizz you ordered with the big bud?

Hello there rainz! yes it was biobizz bloom and big bud that i ordered.
do you think i should feed it bloom one week and big bud the next starting week 5 or how do i go about these nutes wiv autos?

Thanks for your posts and hope your all happy farming :D

with the biobizz nutes ive always just followed their chart mate, as for the big bud ive never used it....... i might do though after i see what it does for you. I mainly use canna nutes just for the simplicity of it lol brilliant nutes though

@Sean: Pay it no mind. It's common practice for people to post pix of their grows in other grow threads where the plants are similar. It can be useful to have something else to compare to. Of course if it comes to dominate the thread that's not right but it's hardly the case here.

Auto genetics: From my own experience and from reading grow logs, Auto's seem to have stability problems. Perhaps it's partly because they are somewhat new compared to other strains but there is a real difficulty with stabilizing auto strains. Breeders stabilize their strains by a technique known as 'backcrossing' where offspring are repeatedly crossed with clones of the same mother plant. Since you cant clone autos this is not possible and makes the whole game much harder.

Yes, those curled up top leaves are a sign of distress and its almost certainly from the light. It's not a bad problem but it's not good. Again, I recommend spraying the leaves, covering her with a plastic bag and giving her 24 hours to recover in a place with a bit less light. Also, see if you can adjust the fan so that it blows more on the light bulbs themselves.

I am not convinced that fast autos are really low yielding. When you factor in the short time from seed to harvest and consider the yield per month, I think they do pretty good. But there are good reasons to consider photoperiods.

A much larger selection and while the autos may be really good smoke, the truly amazing strains are photos.

Much better stability.

The ability to keep cloning a plant. Cloning not only saves y ou money on seeds but the cycle from cutting to harvest is much faster than from seed to harvest.

The ability to control the size. With a photo, the size can be controlled by the veg period. If you want a very small plant, you can start 12/12 from seed. When seal's plants start to get big and bushy he is going to appreciate this option :)

Respect from other growers. Autos are still the bastard children of MJ strains. Their progenitor, LowRyder, was pretty crappy from what I hear and people still turn their noses up when they hear the word 'auto'. This will change IMO but as things stand you just dont get the same kudos as you do for growing photos. :) I'ts a bullshit reason, I know but I believe it influences people in their choice.

I do believe autos have a big future and may even come to dominate. NOt having to mess with 12/12 and being able to pump almost twice the amount of light into the plant while flowering are strong advantages.

yea mate you do but just dont go mad with it, im not too sure about big bud but with canna boost i start using it with the bloom nutes from the second or third week of flowering depending on how they look. Best bet is to read the label and see what it says, or on advanced nutrients website.

I don't know the nutes you are using. Since you have smallish pots and your plants have had a dehydration problem, I would go very gently with the nutes. Start with 1/4 or even 1/8 the recommended dose and ramp up slowly every other watering. Watch for leaf curling and tips turning brown. Too much nutes is like too much salt and if the plants are already close to dehydration the two can combine to make things worse.

As far as I can see, none of your girls looks like she has been missing any meals so there is no rush. Take it slow

The biobizz is organic so dont feed it at 1/4 strength, it wont do nothing, follow the labels but just add a little bit less than what the bottle says to.

Hello guys, thanks for all the advice and info so far, ive been really busy atm so havent had the time to update really but i will over the weekend.

Right now i have a a problem all my girls are root bound so i transplanted the blue himalaya into a 10L pot as she only grows to 15" max but even that is bad enough as she is now only 2" away from the 20w cfl and 3" away from the big 250w cfl and im scared its gonna burn because she is already going abit yellow and the leaves are drooping but the Afghans look really healthy and even tho they are root bound they seem to be budding fine :D i got bio bloom on the way but have to wait an extra week or so for the big bud as some stock problem or bullshit!

what do you guys think about the BH problem? is it too close to light and is yellowing normal or not? as it only has 3 and half weeks left! the buds are tiny tho and only been developin for nearly a week!

thanks people for all the help :D

happy farming!

Day 27 - one of the afghans is double the size of the other haha crazy seeing as i potted them at the same time, cant really see the problem with the BH here but i will upload photos of the yellowing in general and leaves drooping. The big afghan and BH are 12" tall and the lil afghan is 10.5" tall.
Temp has always been between 24C - 28C and Humidity is always between 43% - 51%. i have a 6" desktop fan circulating air inside and it blows on the girls ;)

Day 29 - Blue Himalaya went into 10L pot as she is root bound, im leaving the afghans in the 5L tho as i have space restrictions so need to keep them short.

hi buddy!

i'm following your 3d with my little baby (Afghan Kush Ryder) and it's my first grow indoors
just to tell you you're not alone ;)
she's growing in a 11lt. pot full of BIOBIZZ ALLMIX under a 200w AGRO CFL lamp in a 60x40x125 self built box
she's now 35 days old, 46 cm. tall
nurturing her with 1ml BIOMAGNO BLOOM + 1ml. BIOMAGNO ACTIVATOR + 1ml. BCUZZ BLOOM STIMULATOR in 1 lt. of water ph 6.0
4 days ago i inoculated the soil with 2gr. of TARANTULA and 2gr. of PIRANHA by Adv Nuts.

schedule:
1 time water + fertilizer
2 times plain water ph 6.0 + BCUZZ BLOOM STIMULATOR

In 1 week i will inoculate the soil again with the bacterias above.
Last 2 weeks i will use GREEN SENSATION.
Let's see how it goes  in the meanwhile it seems she likes my efforts...

Some pics of my little baby

Good job on your first grow, how'd the girls finish up? I liked Blue Himalaya alot, but personally if I'm growing short stuff strains it's all about the Russian Rocket Fuel. Give it a shot some time. Good to see the Afghan Kush Ryder seems fairly stable, I'll order a pack here soon.
