1000W in a 4x4, SOG, 30 plants = 2lb
Sounds about right. I run a 600 in a 4X4 space, 7-9 plants, yields average 22-28 ounces.

Nice looking plants SG.......I have a nephew that runs a Stealth 600 and gets amazing results. He is getting real close to the 2g per mark........

Hey solarguy,

Would you be able to tell us how much these growbars actually cost/how much the new revised models are going to cost?

I'm pretty interested in them after my HPS bulb pops... Really looking forward to the next grow with the new panels too :leaf:
1200.00 per bar, I will be able to make custom designs though. Perhaps you don't want a4'x4' bar and maybe just one single chip inside a 8" can or in a square pattern we will have options!....I plan to have different throw patterns but the bars are my favorite for now...its all proportionate to the individual slivers themselves. We will also be able to do custom colors and mixes as well. Our pre-made lights will be available on demand and custom orders take 6-8 weeks.

Here is an example of what we can do:

HELO MONSTER Light Fixture_1.jpg

custom bars for commercial light movers!

PM for now for orders!

I've been (quietly) following...and marking words now. :) 200watts - 2lbs goal = 4.54 g/watt LOL! Let's see it happen brother and I'll take 4 of those lights immediately!
Trust me i know, i am going to make it happen....if you think of it i am not that far off!

How many weeks is it going to take to finish under your grow bars compared to the blackstars?
Are your girls under the blackstars going to finish up before their time or they on shedule with their strain and if so are you adding more time to finish up under the grow bars?
Like everyone who can see your running 300 watts in a 5x5 area with no coverage issues, that's impressive all on it's own.
I am going to finish up under the Blackstars probably 2 weeks early. Strains are all about 65 day flowering schedule and that will be July 14th...looks like we are on target for the Blackstars, we might need a few more weeks for the growbars.

Thanks for following...you have been paying attention, coverage is the biggest issue with traditional LEDs ! It is the biggest misconception in LEDs when they are compared to HID lighting and has given LEDs the bad name. I am here to change that! This will be the first LED line-up to compete with HID lighting and make sense for obvious efficiency reasons! Also in the commercial world it will make business sense to control costs and maintain low overhead, we just got to achieve the same yield! Or to the point where it makes $en$e aven if the yield is a little less.

I am updating Pics tomorrow as i just got into town! The girls look great!

I'm glue to my seat.
I would be 1st in line if those babies could match up with a 1000watt hps. They are a bit pricey but if they do what you think they will do worth every penny. (on 200-300 watts)
I'm in when you start your flowering light journal.

that's what I'm talking about, hey are 100% worth the cost even with what they are doing now!

solar guy....m in the process(thinking about it)...
Of getting a led to supplement my 400hps....
Im thinking of going with the 6 gen blackstar 240....or an advanced led (more expensive)
Which would you recommend ...or is there a good place too by these in los angles area...
Thanx... id really appreciate yo feedback.....

Alright, you've inspired me ! I just went & picked everything up today, was a little more pricey though. I Got a 6 fixture vanity though so i'll be running a total of 12 cfls. I'm planning on running 8 27w Daylight bulbs & 4 27w Soft whites & i'll try to post up some pics when I'm Done ! Thanks for the great Money Wise Idea

I have never used the advanced leds, what kind of chips are used compared to the blackstar 3w?

Your 400watt HPS will take you a lot further than a 240 blackstar...the 400 watt hps will cover a 3x3-4x4 area fine...The 240's have enough coverage for 2 plants (4sq feet) on their own maybe...*also each 240 draws about 170-190watts...just like the 500's draw 280watts each.

Just to give you an idea, i had a 240 over each plant when i used them and 4 x 240's in a 4x4...It all comes down to what i have been saying and that is that...LED panels coverage is limited to their design! Also HPS lights are totally different animals than LEDs. I have never used LEDs as supplemental lighting because I believe LEDs for supplemental lighting are a waste and defeat the point of LEDs in the first place. You will end up using over 400watts of LED to cover what your 400watt HPS light can do and your yield will be less, so if growing for YIELD so I would just buy another HPS light haha.

Sure the supplemental LED might improve grow time and quality a little bit but your 400HPS is a beast compared to a 240 blackstar....read a few pages of this thread to understand...Hopefully I can design some growbars that allow LEDs to make sense when being compared or trying to replace a HID light. A lot of people don't realize that LEDs as we know them now and HID lighting are totally different animals and false LED claims have led people to try and usually fail and get upset with the results of LEDs. I would use 4 500's which is well over a 1000watts of blackstar leds to cover a 5x5 tent and a 1000HPS light will destroy a 5x5 area...this is what i am trying to change with the growbars in this grow! if I can get 200 watts to cover a 5x5 area i will change the LED game...

The reality is the blackstars are great but look at my 4x4 tent, i am using 2 500's = 560 watts total in LEDs...I'm pretty sure a 600watt hps would of doubled if not tripled my yield in this grow compared to the blackstars! But i got the LEDs because i cant deal with heat, cheaper over time vs bulb replacements, and good experiments!''

Today i took one plant out of the 4x4 Blackstar tent and moved one of the girls from under the grow bars...two reasons why i did this:

1st: i am running low on medicine and would like some ready in a week or two after it cures and dries.

2nd: since the blackstars were so much ahead of the growbars by atleast 2-3 weeks i wanted to take one plant from under the growbars and see how it reacts to the blackstars...just hope it doesn't herm due the the increase in red light ratio. I am thinking the new plant under the blackstars will start growing faster than what it was doing under the growbars, i will be able to test this easily by comparing to the plants in the growbar tent...

Pics of the plan i chopped this morning, looks like 1.5-2oz's...

Pics of the girls and NEW girl in the 4x4 blackstar tent, the big plant is the one doing the best! looks close to 3-4oz's:

Pics of the grow bar tent: really starting to fall behind the blackstars, keep in mind there is only 200 watts in the 5x5 tent!...this grow bar did a great job growing the plants and keeping them healthy however when i get the new growbar's they will be much more suited for flowering...

46 grams off of that plant my friend, it was ready and its curing now. I have tasted a sample and it was pretty good but tasted uncured so i cant wait to taste it when finished curing.

Today i decided the other three in the blackstar tent are done! I cut the leaves and trimmed them up but left them in the pots to be in the dark for 48 hours, a friend told me to try this...All the plants are now under the growbars in the 5x5 tent, the growbars give off zero heat. *It was getting too hot with the 2 blackstar lights, believe it or not they raised the room and house a noticeable 8+ degrees and it's getting too hot with no AC. Perfect timing! Today my house felt and smelt great!

As you can see they look great! I expect the same yield on the two as the last around 1.5-2oz...on the beast one I am expecting at least 3 oz's! Look at the picture next to the blunt stick....siiiiiick!

012.jpg029.jpg013.jpg024.jpg032.jpg030.jpg023.jpg010.jpg018.jpg003.jpg020.jpg008.jpg014.jpg026.jpg004.jpg025.jpg007.jpg016.jpg028.jpg022.jpg005.jpg015.jpg031.jpg033.jpg011.jpg027.jpg017.jpg019.jpg006.jpg009.jpg

Here in the growbar's as discussed throughout the thread, great looking buds but the yield is not so great. hoping 1/2-3/4oz, hope...

However i needed to see that the coverage was with this new type of LED chip and it passed the test! I will be trying a different grow bar with more red ratios hopefully to prevent such a stretchy plant and better buds! This growbar is perfect for veg tho, 200 watts!

Looks tasty, the ones under the grow bars are not as fat as the blackstar ones.
How much longeer do you think they will be in there?
When are you getting your flowering grow bars?
Can't wait to see them in action.
