Damn, I'm pretty jealous.
I really can't wait until LED panels really drop in price or until plasma bulbs become affordable... One day.. :leaf:

Have you ever heard or tried 240w blackstar led? From gotham hydroponics, I have been looking at them all but about to buy it just wanted to see if you have heard good/bad things about it

^ 3 pics above! i am seeing a few yellow/rust dots on a few leaves of the G-13 strain. i wonder if it is due to the nutrients i fed yesterday. Tomorrow or the next day will be straight water so i will see what happens...see the pics below please input on possible cause for these dots...does not look like spider mites

it might not look it but i got plenty red in these....these LEDs have the right spectrum and are full spectrum bars. They could of been designed with more red but our tests showed a better PAR rating with this mix here. There are actually 4 slivers with 6 watt 2200k and 2700k diodes and the othe rlsivers are 3500/5500/k slivers. Look in the photo and you can see the colors, hard to tell with your eyes especially becsause traditional LEDs appear their color.

The Haight Solid state light adds some red but i will be finishing this way. I only added it because this grow got bigger than i thought and i have a bunch of Haight Solid State panels...i might throw another one in but this is working great.

Solarguy - you obviously seem to have some experience w/ the LEDs. Have you harvested with them before?
hell yeah with many different lights not just grow lights. My solar company got into LED retrofitting for everyday businesses and municipalities ex. street lights. I also do energy management systems and smart HVAC systems. With the rise of MMC's/dispensaries in our area i have a lot of commercial growers/OPC's who are into energy conservation. One popular solution has been mixing LED lights and HID. Some growers have totally retrofitted LED grows also, especially their veg rooms. However LEDs aren't for everyone and due to false claims from companies and skeptics and the price still being high on LEDs its hard for a lot of people to get into them or consider them. A big thing here is medicine continues to fall in price but electricity is going up, its a simple business decision you got to control your overhead. Sooner or later the power hogs will be gone...people will be growing smarter because it makes Cent$$$$$$$.

LEDs:

no heat - save money on fans for cooling tubes, electricity for AC, heat mitigation costs.
no bulb replacement, long life - most LEDs should last 3-5 years, our grow bars in this grow offer a 10 year warranty.
create more potent buds, they just look better!

Here are some different fixtures and grows....

Black Star 240's x 2 = 480 watts total and 2 x 180 watt = 360 watts total HAight Solid State in a 5x5 tent...this grow ended up sweet but i didn't take any pics...my bad

Haight Solid State 180 watt x2 = 360watts total in a 4x4 tent.

Awesome info and pictures man! And +rep for postin em, was gunna be my next question ha. Very cool. I have of course heard the opposite side of the debate, hell, I was at the high times medical cannabis cup and nico Escondido devoted a whole section of his presentation to how LEDs suck! I like to keep an open mind tho. I love CFLs and have harvested great crops with them and people talk shit all day. So ykno. How much on average do you typically harvest per plant?

2-3 oz is average, its been worst and its been better on some plants too depends on what kind of grow and what you do. Different styles get better yields but there are always trade offs too...

its all up to the grower at the end of the day....there are so many factors into growing

i harvested 18 oz on 5 plants, that was my best harvest in one of my tents....

i see both sides of the deal, i don't want to claim LEDs beat HPS in yield watt for watt because i don't think they do. I own 2 hps systems, 600 and 1000 and my HPS beats the LEDs most of the time.... However they are more efficient than any HID lighting, cost less to operate and control the grow and from my experience they produce better bud.
