Flower week #7, buds are thickening and really startin to trich out.Time to start gettin things together for next run. I will be cutting a bunch of #18 clones tonight and hopefully trading some or maybe even buying a few new strains from a local dispensary. I have a mother of SLH and a next generation seeds Grapefruit diesel, but niether of them are mature enough to cut from yet and I really dont want another batch of all #18. I like a little variety.

Hey whats up man! Shits looking real nice! Buds are looking hella frosty already! I just started a small setup, but the only thing that was wrong was I was giving the plants i'm using right now, and they were infested with spidermites... I've treated them a couple times know with no signs of the lil bastards coming back so thats a plus! But the plants are not looking to good. I was thinking of taking some clones soon and just putting these into flower.. If you get some time you should check out the journal I started.. The link is in my signature.. I could really use all the help i can get.. Thanks man!

Cheers

Looking good! were your og kush the #18 seeds slow starting? I just germed one, and its the slowest out of the 4 strains i currently have growing atm. its about 4 days old, and its true leaves are just now starting to swell, where as my diesel has its second set of true leaves already showing and they are the same age. Oh well thought you might know since you have the experience with this strain. thanks!
Happy growing!
I agree my OG18 was a slow starter as well. It had long internode spacing and big leaves and ever since it kinda got neglected to give other plants more light.

Hey thanks guys, I wasn't happy with how much screen filled out though. I was hoping to fill the whole screen completetly. I was thinking of switching out the cool tubes for some extra large hoods , but after talking witha few people I think I am going to try another cycle before I make that investment. This next round I will be topping the plants somewhere near mid veg to see if that gives me what I'm looking for.

Nice job!!! +rep. Topping your plants should help fill the screen out. You'll get two main stems that you can train horizontally on the screen and gain more nodes. I wish I would have topped my girl, she has grown way too tall and I had a difficult time keeping her under the screen.

Again, great job and keep up the good work!!!

Congrats bud, gettin' close. I topped my plants mid veg. I tried two styles. In pic#1 I topped the main stem and cut off everything except 4 main branches. Those branches were all trained in the same direction toward the edge of the screen. In pic#2 I topped the main stem higher up and had 7 main branches which grew in a bush shape. Not sure which way I like better. Pic#3 shows the two different styles. Later.

Yea Teddie, I think either way will get me what I want. I will def try next round. Flower week number 8. Nugs are getting real dense and frosty. Leaves really look like shit though and I'm not real happy about that.I started to flush with ph'd water today, another week or two and they will be ready to chop. I might have to pull a few early nugs off though, I am almost out of weed.

always a good idea! LOL I think we all want that..

Just remember that THC converts itself into its psychoactive form during the drying and curing process. You can smoke anything and get a buzz, we smoke bud to get high!!!

Just found your journal. Just read the entire journal. Good journal you got going. I myself am growing slh, vanilla kush, train wreck and og kush 18 (og vkush mom in dwc). I will definetly follow your journal soI can get a feel on how long the flower period is. Keep up the good work. By the way why do you have foil on all of your buckets?

Hey thanks skyrocket, we seem to have the same tastes. I have been running trainwreck for the last year or so and loved it, I just killed off my mother to make room for some different strains though. I have a SLH mom going right now and have heard nothing but good things on the VK. The stuff on my buckets isn't exactly foil its aluminum tape, the main purpose is to block the light from penetrating into the buckets and to reflect as much light as possible.
Flower week number nine has arrived and they are looking ready. I will probably start to chop early next week. This #18 is funky stuff but the yields def suffer. I need a big bud strain next round.
