Believe me i know the whole doctors and medicine thing, well over a million dollars in medical bills, probably $20,000 that insurance wouldn't touch.....
Family always comes first, i just know how fast money goes, so i figured get it done while i could, i am really good at getting doctors to bill us at this point, and most meds are covered by insurance, but my meds aren't.....................
Anyways, good luck can't wait to see the set up..........

Well about 9 days ago I decided that I would go ahead and get these seeds started so I made a small box for them to veg in. Guess its the 'Newb' in me and wanting to get on with the grow. :-( So here is their current home until I can get the work completed on the closet. (Should be around the 1st of next month) Right now they are just in a large Rubbermaid container with 2 of the cheap grow lights that Wallyworld sells. There is an old PC fan bringing in fresh air and other to help push the air up and out a small slit where the lid remains open.

Temps have ranged from 68 to 82F with humidity between 27 and 42%. The two white cups are White Widow and the purple is Bubilicious (All from the Nirvana Seed bank) running an 18/6 light cycle. I know its not ideal, but until we get moved this has to work for the veg area. Hopefully I can use this for a mom/clone setup later.

(Please don't flame me, I understand this is not ideal and after watching the bubilicious for the last couple days I realize it is stretching due to lack of proper light. I should have waited, but I was stoked to get this underway.)

I would have started with some bag seeds, but still i am not against you going for it before everything is ready, i am bad about that too. Currently in the middle of rebuilding everything in my grow (again) and still have a bunch of plants going.
Honestly i applaud your intent, the fact they are in there struggling will help to motivate you into getting the closet set up. I wouldn't plan on keeping mothers in there, but it is possible, esp since it doesn't seem like you are going to need a lot of clones, but you may want to plan on another area for moms.

Happy 420 Everyone!

After searching some rubbermaid grows on here I seen a really neat idea. So I snagged it and put it to work in my little temp area. I think there is a major light improvement so hopefully this will stop or slow down some of the stretching. (Once again kicks self in the a$$ for not waiting till the move and proper setup) There isnt any light leaking through the sides or top now so I think this may be a bit better for the (hopefully) girls.

Just an update for those of you who have helped me this far. We have completed our move and I think I was stoned when I took a guesstimate of the new grow area.... It isnt as big as I thought it was but I think it still turned out nice. Thanks for everyone that helped and I look forward to your aid in my grow. Here is a pic of the current setup:

What you cant see id the carbon filer and 4" inline fan to the left of the pic. Also, the actual space is only 57 cubic meters so I think the 160cfm fan/scrubber and 600 watt cooltube maybe a bit overkill but thats what I purchased anyway.

Heres to an awesome grow! bongsmilie

Oh yeah, and here are the plants:

Looks nice man, as long as you can keep the temps low it should work out just fine. An oz a week might be a little ambitious if you don't go perpetual but probably not out of reach either.

Congrats! Looking great. Might consider mounting the light to the ceiling to increase your lights ability to move up. I just use rope, eye hooks and rope cleats. Good luck!

Just a quick update with a picture. I finally purchased a quality soil pH meter and had to make some pH up adjustments to the one on the right (Bubbleicious) The soil was really low reading at 5.8 and some of the older leaves were showing signs of what I think is nute lockout.

I am planning on mounting the lights to the ceiling but until I can get the fan and scrubber mounted the way I want it makes it impossible. Right now the shelf holds both the fan/scrubber and once I can mount them both to the wall I will be able to loose that shelf and readjust the lights.

Tis it for now, more to come soon.

Alright, so I am a little worried... Today they had a total of 18 hours of darkness so I can switch them to flowering mode... While I was out and about I picked up some green CFL lightbulbs and black poly film. I changed all the bulbs in my bedroom to these CFLs and boarded the windows with the black sheeting. After the bulbs and green cfls I jumped inside the closet and could still see some green light leaking in the top left side of the door and the entire bottom of the door. What worries the shit outta me is if I can see this light from inside the closet, would the hallway (regular CFL bulb) be enough to cause the plants to reveg, should they see this light?

Shit, fuck, damn... I am starting to wonder if I should have just tented this closet!!! erg!

Someone please give me some insight on this!

I would get some more poly and a zipper, make a second door inside the real door, Make sure it covers the whole door way, then install the zipper, and cut down the middle to make the opening. Then you will be light tight from the door. Also, i found a new site, pretty well just us old guys over there with only a few noobs, certainly looking to add a green element so we have more questions to answer. It is still less than 200 people total however, so if you are interested i would certainly invite you over.
