sorry to interrupt your riveting thread, i was wondering
Is it ok for young folk to use the word "gay" when addressing inanimate objects, using it as a descriptive term for something that is "not cool"
i hear some folk who are "gay" but not "gay" oppose this and suggest it's homophobic, maybe others are not so sure or even use it themselves
would a gay teenager, say to another teenager "your phone is "gay" meaning its not a good phone
or can only heterosexual teenagers say this
i also hear the word gay has been changed on more than one occasion
old people would use it to mean "happy", but it had meaning before even old people were using it
in their old people songs "gay old time"
so who owns the word gay and who stole it from who ?

not so sure m8 fag is a slang word and here in the uk fag is slang for cigarette
these days i think it would of escalated from slang status to derogatory status
because the younger people here today are much more Americanized
so fag here takes on its american meaning more so now
also i have no idea why, but faggots are these disgusting meatball things poor people and old people eat
i read something recently where some gay folk were complaining about the teenagers using the word gay as they do today
i guess it just seemed like a double standard, since the word has gone through several meanings over time
i doubt any gay folk lost any sleep over all those old people moaning about them stealing the word in the first place lol
i would like to think it is just a minority of gay folk anyway that would care either way about a word fanatics most likely

i even have it set in my phone's dictionary.. pita though as a lot of times i'm trying to write the word they, and my phone changes it to ghey..
