    CFL Rubbermaid

This is day 37. Here are some close ups of some of the nicer looking plants. They're all looking great though, just some a bit further along than the others. All of the plants are about the same height (about 6 inches tall).

    rubbermaid stealth any advice

Hey, lookin' good so far! My recommendation would be to get that power strip out of the box. If you can wire your lights independently it should take the heat down a little bit. I'd also suggest getting yourself a 120mm PC case fan instead of the two 80s. I'm not sure how loud those are but...

Day 26 update: I've thrown away 3 males and 1 hermie. The rest of the plants appear to be females :) so I guess grand daddy statistics was on my side! The temperature problems have been resolved by getting a better computer case fan. I'm running a 120mm fan rather than an 80mm and made a...

    CFL Rubbermaid

How exactly would that work? I know that topping causes the plants to split and grow two shoots in that spot. Would I just cut one of them as a clone instead of letting it grow for budding? How big would it have to be before I cut it?

Thanks, yah, I guess I'll unscrew 2 bulbs for right now. Its day 22, and I just found my first two males. They definitely have balls, so they're getting the axe. I *think* I found my first two females too though! I'll snap some photos later tonight or tomorrow.

    CFL Rubbermaid

Was hoping this was the case ;) I'll keep it in mind for the next time, thanks. My box is 20in x 36in which if my math isn't absolutely wrong (a good possibility) means that I have 5 sq ft. The smell isn't too bad quite yet so I've managed to keep the temperature right around 80 with no...

Need input on experience cloning under 12/12

I don't know for sure as I have never done it, but there are growers who cut clones from mothers and go straight to 12/12 so it definitely seems possible. Its how some of the more successful micro growers seem to operate really. I don't know the ramifications of cutting clones from a flowering...

    CFL Rubbermaid

I have 8 bulbs running. Is it worth my while to start that process (and thus transplant) or should I just keep that in mind for the next one? Edit: Also, after reading through a lot of your grow journal I noticed you talked about intentional stretch but never found the page where you...

    CFL Rubbermaid

I have one fan at the top of the box on one of the narrow sides just under the handle grip. I have one large ventilation hole directly across from it but at the bottom of the setup. I also have a second small side intake (it was the original intake and didn't work well enough, I might actually...

    CFL Rubbermaid

Thanks :D Has anyone tried using one of those ozone generators to remove smell? I'm having some fan issues... The case fan I'm using isn't powerful enough with the filter on (causes the temp to go up by like 10 degrees) but I don't really think I can put a much louder fan in there or it'd be...

Here are some pics from day 16. I watered with a blend of the fox farm nutes. I cut everything by 1/4 and combined the last week of veg dose and the first week of flower dose. This is technically the second week of flower but I wanted to play it on the safe side. These are all bag seed both...

    1st CFL Grow

As long as you have a way to keep the lights close enough to the plants then I say you're golden. I may not be an expert (and in fact I'm in the middle of my first grow) but if there is anything that I've learned during my readings here its that YOU (and I) can grow awesome plants with CFLs...

Heres two updated pics. Today is day 10. They all seem very healthy to me :)

    CFL Rubbermaid

We built two of the same setup, a friend took one to his house and I have the other. He is going to veg, and I am going to flower from seed. I started 12/12 yesterday and fed all of the plants water PH'd to 6.5 and with 1/4 of a dose of fox farm big bloom. They're all looking healthy and...

    CFL Rubbermaid

The room temperature was the problem. I've moved one of the boxes to another room and its now running at 74-80 depending on how warm the room gets. Now all thats left is a little bit more stealthing of the boxes and then its time to start our experimentation which includes one set of plants...

    CFL Rubbermaid

I think the temperature of the room we've got the boxes in is problematic. I just checked temperatures and they were both at 88 even with the venting. I guess I'll cut another intake hole and see if it helps.

    CFL Rubbermaid

After about 6 hours of running the temp gets to about 84 with the lid on. I'm concerned that its slowly crawling still though. Right now there is a thin filter (for dust and stuff) over the intake so I might just yank that to see how it works. I was going for quick light diffusion but temp is...

    CFL Rubbermaid

The dark cycle just ended so I snapped some photos for ya guys. As for the basics, I have a PH kit as well as the Fox Farm nute 3 pack. I have been 24 hour standing PH balanced water to water with :) I do have digital thermometer / temperature sensor in there. As for the mylar, the white...

    CFL Rubbermaid

Well, I need to get some more pics snapped but its a dark cycle right now so it'll have to wait. The temperature is getting too hot in the boxes with the lid on, I have a 4" PC case fan running in there but its not moving enough air. The temp is getting to about 85, once I get some pics up...

    CFL Rubbermaid

Woohoo, this morning I checked and out of 35 seeds we have 30 sprouts! I added two more lights to the box and tried to get a bit of better coverage. I noticed some of the sprouts on the perimeters stretching towards the light. I think I'm going to leave these guys on 24hr light for a while...
