This is my first grow, Guest bedroom closet has been empty for 2 years so I figure what the hell its worth a try.

Here is what iv setup

2 x 46 watt w/ reflectors (Above Plants)
2 x 26 watt w/ reflectors (Left Side Of Plants)
4 x 26 watt (in power strip above plants)
2 x 26 watt & 2 x 16 watt (in power strip right side of plants)

1 x 12" Oscillating Fan

Do you think I have enough lights for 2 - 3 plants with nice size yields?

with cfls you will probebly have weak green and smaller yeilds, for the amount of time and money i would invest in a 150w hps

Why you have to be so negative
As long as you have a way to keep the lights close enough to the plants then I say you're golden. I may not be an expert (and in fact I'm in the middle of my first grow) but if there is anything that I've learned during my readings here its that YOU (and I) can grow awesome plants with CFLs. It just takes some time and a lot of reading. Even if it doesn't go perfectly I'm sure you'll get a yield. It's all a learning experience so as long as you have an open mind and are willing to do a bit of problem solving when the need comes up you'll be fine. :weed:

Well you got a good setup, i think he was just recommending a 150 watt HPS system which you can get cheap as hell from HTG, 150 watt hps for 90 bucks shipped. I dont know what kind of $$$ you have to work with but a 150 watt hps would not be a bad idea, and you can even keep the CFLS. What Color spectrum are your CFLS right now? 6500k 2700k? Cuz for flowering you will have to switch to 2700k, wher hps are even more RED they are like 2200k wich is awesome for flowering where a more BLUE spectrum for vegging, like MH or 6500K CFLS. another thing that is OOBER important is your SOIL if your soil and PH are not right, then ur sucking, and also ventilation and temperature are also ver very important, cheers, and good luck bro! :leaf:

It's pretty much a mix of 6500 and 2700 will that hurt vegging

Don't let the occasional HPS troll get you down about CFLs. I'm also in the middle of my first grow, and my plants look better than a lot of people with HPS.

What do you recommend?
I'm currently using a mix of 50% organic compost soil($1.50/40lb bag), 25% perlite($4.50/8qt bag), 25% peat moss($4.50/8qt bag). That's about $11 and it will last you multiple plants and multiple tranplants. My girls loved it. I've since picked up some Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil, and that stuff is the beez neez. My clones are growing very fast in it.

Good soil is just as important as good lighting.
