    Cfl basic grow guide

Yeah, I've found that if you use the actual wattage and do the math the representation of the manufacturer's "Lumens/Watt" is usually pretty accurate. I've been trying to do some more math to figure out IF it is exactly less economical, even in a larger ACTUAL wattage setting for CFLs, a lot of...

    Dropped in my lap

Okay, well since I made my trip, I've done some upgrades, but it's so ungodly bright in there you prob won't be able to see unless I raise the lights. Anyhow, the clone started to curl upwards, which I think is a heat issue? Nevertheless it happened right after I added the new lights. Added 4...

    Now THATS a CFL!

Yeah I figured it out, I thought those were bigger/better than the ones you see on 1000bulbs, I think these just came with the ballast is all. Still, cool lights, when I finish my light design I'll post a grow to show you guys my results and progression.

    Lighting Question

From what I've read, in most cases people using HiDs don't always get a chance to utilize all of that great output anyway, because they have to place their lamps farther and farther away, which consequently lowers their yield overall because the light can't penetrate as far. With CFLs, because...

    Now THATS a CFL!

    Lighting Question

well, keep in mind that you should be more worried about the bulbs output (lumens), overall, the wattage is the wrong number to stress about when it comes to growing, at least in my experience, I started out growing with 3 42w 27K bulbs from the Depot, but I was paying more attention to total...

    Dropped in my lap

Shown no signs of stress really, the whole clone is stretching upwards to reach my CFLs. The second I see roots pop out of the rockwool it's into the soil for her.

In that case, I'm not really worried, she sagged for like the first day, and then stood right back up, and couldn't wait to reach for that light, no signs of stress on the leaves or anything I just keep the rockwool moist by spritzing it with a squirt bottle.

    flower with 2700+4200k cfl's ! mix

Maybe a second intake fan?? Not a whole lot experience in dealing with air flow just yet, really don't have to worry too much about it yet....

    flower with 2700+4200k cfl's ! mix

Also, it's worth noting that you should be more worried about your lumens/sq. ft more than wattage...

    flower with 2700+4200k cfl's ! mix

Well, if they are old enough to handle a sturdier breeze you may think about adding a fan or two, depending on the size of the fans you already have. I would use both if I had the choice, More light = more energy = faster grow...@ very base anyway, there are a lot of factors...

Does anybody have experience using those 5 lamp flex lights with CFLs?

Well yeah I thought about it and I am just going to build a light, the sockets and stuff are rated MUCH MUCH higher than the flex lamp anyway, it was more of a convenience thing @ the time. I am thinking a mogul socket with some hulking electrical wire, a splitter to make 1 to 2 to 4 and buy 4...

    Dropped in my lap

On a side note, I clipped the top of the taller AK and put her into some rockwool and root hormone, perked back up in about a day, but haven't seen much new growth? Would it stand to reason it's trying to build a root system up before it tries to grow more? Or may it just be Autoflower?
  14. P

    Dropped in my lap

Well, since I moved the lights closer, the AK's seem to want to grow new leaves? So it may just have gone back into veg in which case it's just a regular, but I'm not positive, shouldn't the plant grow new leaves even in flowering???? Only my 3rd grow, lost most of my gear in a bunch of moves in...

    Dropped in my lap

Wow, that's really cool man. I have to give this some thought, I have usually done my growing in either a closet, or an un-used bathroom (which was sweet, cause the sink still worked.) But more and more I'm moving to a cabinet grow, I almost want to find an old fridge, use the freezer part for...
