yea their are ways of making your own but if your just starting out I wouldn't get too many complex things going at once. First You'd need your own compost pile and do it right. THen you could take samples from that put it in a steamer and boil it for quite some time then you have an organic tea your plants will love. You are def gonna need nutes but not for the first couple weeks. Make sure you get something in high nitrogen for the first stage. then when you switch to flower you gotta load up on the flowering. I mix guano in with my compost soil and my plants thrive for awhile without nutes, it just depends. But it's way easier to just go buy some from a local nursery.
