it might be overfertilizing actually, give the plants water and wait about a week. if nothing happens, or it worsens, try adding a little more potassium to the fertilizer

That is a good suggestion Before you kill it, wait until you know for sure its a male. I have seen many plants with tight false seed pods that looked like males, and vice versa
