AutoFlower Tent Setup (Help Please!)

I'm moving out in a month, so i decided to cut back on the amount of plants I'll be growing at any one time. My plan was to have 6 auto-flowering plants inside a grow tent, probably in my closet. I know that auto's don't require so much space because they will only be alive for 2-3 months, but how much space do they require? I want to have enough space for the plants to not have to touch each other, but I don't want to have to cut back on the amount of plants. What size grow tent do y'all think would be the appropriate size for them? Also, I have a 150W T5 florescent light, as well as a 400W HPS/ MH hybrid. Do you think this is substantial for this tent or should I upgrade to a 600W?

Mate it really does depend on what strains your growing as for space. I mean among others plants i have auto's to, Super Critical Auto, Big Bang Auto, Quick One, Royal Auto and Royal Dwarf and i would give em a foot squared each so work out how much space you have an do the maths! As for the light, 400 is definitely sufficient for 6 autos, but if you want more growth a 600w! Don't get me wrong you'll get good growth from a 400 though. Just keep adjusting the light so it is about 3 feet from the top of your plants.
Peace man. Hope this helps.

Actually, if I was using a 400 watt, I would keep the light about 16" from the tops, 18-24" from the tops for a 600 watt lamp. If you have a ducted lamp hood, you can go as low as about a foot from the tops. 3' from the top for a 4-600 watter is extreme. Much light will be lost.

You never mentioned your current tent size.
I never mentioned the current tent size because it is irrelevant. I built a 8x6' room out of 2x4's and mylar film, with a tarp floor. I'm upgrading to a quick tear-down model when i move out of my current house.

Thanks man, I am still researching some strains now, this will be the first time I'll have an auto-flowering garden. I'll be getting a 4x4' tent and if you think it will work to have those two lights in there working at the same time, i'll do it, but if it won't then i'll figure something else out. I hate to ask this question here, but what species do you think would be best? I have seen so many strains but they all seem somewhat similar.. am i wrong? What is a favorite amongst strains for you?
also, i'll be using 3 gallon grow bags as opposed to pots so i'll be able to organize them much easier. Thanks for all your help! I really appreciate it!
