Looking good Java, like to see a full tent, and a nice array of genetics to boot. Going to be watching that COG4, and your PBBX`s pretty close. Have some breeds in mind with these. Hope you keep the HS, one of my first grows way back, loves to get tall and dominate sun, yielded like a monster. I`ll be close to this mate, won`t let me +Rep you again or I would ;)

Funny shit about that rogue seed. The dank that wouldn't die..

At one week, six days for a third of them, I am thinking that the ladies
are looking pretty good:
Week1.jpg

I intend to go for two weeks of Veg. I am switching to 100% power (from 80%)
soon as well.

Take care,

JD

P.S. I saw a fair amount of taco-leaves from heat stress last grow. It was not
a problem and was definitely not the ambient temps but the proximity of the light.

The thing is that I am fairly sure that 18" (to bulb, not glass) is far enough. True?

I would agree they look quite good brother, is that 2 week from now or in total, if I read correct you`re at 1 week for most now?

That distance sounds good too, I keep about 24 inches which I consider too far away, but for heat purposes, works best in my situation. Reflectivity goes a long way I guess, haha, and short-stature strains I suppose help too. How`s your ventillation/air flow looking? Appologies if you posted already,

It is buried way back somewhere, but no worries whatsoever: I am using a
ducted 600W MH HID (and will flip to HPS). I use a 6" duct, a monstrous
DIY carbon filter, and a Whisperline fan (love it!).

I enjoy excellent fresh air exchange, and I live near the coast so the
temps are about perfect.

I use a 16" stand fan, hung upside down, and positioned so as to blow
along one side of the tent, and downward without pointing directly at
the plants. The result is a slight vortex that affect all plants without
stressing them.

You are correct on the timing. A week ago the clones were planted and
put in the tent, at 60% power. I am thinking of flipping them in a week,
at week 2.

Given the pig that I am...lol 36 plants!...I cannot Veg longer and expect to
be able to deal with the resulting jungle.

I am however thinking a lot about flowering my mothers next crop. This
will allow for much more growth and LST. (maybe a 3 X 3 grid of 9
5 gallon smart pots...)

I will not be topping these plants. I will likely remove some of the lowest
branches, but I like to leave the fan leaves die back when they are ready.

Take care,

JD

Beautiful, thought you had your bases covered, just couldn`t recall, haha. Thanks for the refresher

Sounds good to me, exactly what I`d be doing under those circumstances, little piggy ;)

Hello all,

We are two days from the flip. I am still on track with flip at two weeks.

I will be resetting the "weeks clock" and will refer to weeks since flip.

These ladies will explode. I think that their roots have begun to really
get a grip on the new soil.

12days-beforeflip.jpg

I have turned on the Kessil Lamps (2 X 350s) and have changed the
cycle from 24/0 to 20/4.

Some notes regarding the breeds:
==========================================
The Deadhead are already tall. They are likely to stretch like mad. I found
that they were a bit droopy at first but are starting to reach up nicely.

The Blue Cheese just screams "good genes". The plants have very lovely
structure. They are very dense, and have extra lobed leaves. Very dark
too.

The Chem 4 are somewhat in the middle, but they are very consistent
in size and right behind the largest DHs. They are a little wan, but they
are making roots right now and should beef up soon.

The Qrazy Train are small but strong. They are predicted to be the first
done, by as much as six weeks (tho I expect four). I think that they will
impress in the end. TGA Subcool has produced some good stuff.
==========================================

I am running out of my myco additive. It was a freebie from my grow
shop so I had not looked into this type of thing. I found that Great White Shark
is very well spoken of for this need, but it is also very expensive.

I found this online. It is the same cost as GWS, but for 8 lbs instead of 8 ounces!

Because of my many breeds, I am already seeing a wide variety of behaviors.
I am seeing more yellowing in some breeds and know that some will eat more
than others. Some will stretch more than others and I might end up wanting
to put a small table into the tent to allow for a shorties section.

This will all shake itself out during and just after the stretch.

Enjoying the Somango

while the AK-47 cures.

Take care,

JD

Thanks KC.

I expect that this thread will have some nice photos for a few weeks.
Then things quiet down, then harvest/victory shots. Yeah!

I would be stoked to pop your monsters! :0)

Hello,

Can anyone comment on whether OGs respond well to super-cropping?

I am thinking that I might want to lower these.

As long as I am at it, can anyone comment on any special needs of any
of the breeds that I am growing?

i.e. Is Qrazy Train as fast as reported? Do Chem 4 and Deadhead need
more N than other plants? (they seem a tad yellow)

Any comments appreciated.

Thank you for the time.

Yes, OG`s respond quite well to cropping on any kind really. Found I can chop off a substainial amount and they perk usually within 2 days tops, like a bit more N during that process though I find, I`ve added 20% to my following Veg feeding personally after playing with that strain over time. Did the same with my Cataracts and the OG18 accounts for 75% of the genes ... :)

And you`ll have to be a bit heavier on the Chem as well in terms of N, but I find they starve Mag sometimes from others as well so keep an eye on new tips, easy to spot. No comment on the Qrazy Train, looking to see how that one does :D

Looking awesome Java dude. I can't wait to see those fill in. With your last harvest, about how long were those AK "Budsickles"?

Well KC, your data is spot on. Thanks! The OGs do seem very hungry.

I am using a new soil, and the ladies have been a bit on the yellow side so far.

I have been foliar feeding and this has been helping.

I got a new kelp based additive that I will add. I may need to make two
different mixes when I feed this Crop.

Hey Bigboy, those budsicle got up toward two feet, but not quite, at the largest.
(that is the bud, not the plant)

BTW: I got my 62% Boveda packs and am testing one in an AK-47 jar.

The Somango is so delicious.

Take care,

JD

Whats up bro subd up. Yes super crop those OG's. They will love it. As you follow my grow. Most of what I grow has OG's in it. Damn I want some Dead Head Og & some Chem 91 again.

Cool. I am happy to have you here.

I will SC the Deadheads.....and only these at this point.

They are really standing up, more than any others.

Given my cramped SOG, SCing any plant is basically giving
that plant an advantage in that I am increasing that plants
footprint. (i.e. I am widening it) Now, this suits me fine, as
I have a really good feeling about the DH OG.

Onward and upward,

JD

wow bro. That's awesome. I take it you cut off everything but the main stalk? I am thinking about a legit SOG next run.. This grow was kinda the test, and I like it. BUT this run is also a mixture of Topped/Untopped/LST.. A mish mash of everything. Next run I want just 1 cola wonders.. 2 ft sounds about right ;)

What you hope to see is that as the main stem grow, and nodes
develop along its length, that these buds get so big that the entire
main stem is one long bud.

Now, I cut them all off the main stems for curing, but it did allow
for a packed tent.

As to the issue of "lollipopping"...I was going to suggest that you
see my AK thread, my previous crop. but I checked my thread myself
and it seems that I left that post off here. I mirrored my thread at
ICmag. Check out this post here.

Take care,

JD

Hello all,

Tomorrow is the end of week one, as day zero, the flip day, was last Wednesday.

I switched to the HPS bulb.

Here is the full tent shot:

I am still trying to get a feel for this grow, as the soil change
has affected much else. I am watering, just a few cups each,
every few days. FFOF I could drench and go for 7-10 days.
The Kelloggs Patio Plus seems to be doing well otherwise. It
does seem to have attracted gnats where FFOF did not (it did
smell much more of the manure that it contains).

I am looking into a nematode treatment. The gnats are not harmful
that I can tell, yet.

Take care,

JD
