Mine are 21 days from seed but i presume they would be smaller due to the cfl. Im just finishing my Loyryder 2 and then I will put the metal halide on them for the last weeks of veg. Mine are about 8 in tall after 21 days from seed. If anyone else can shed some light on the standard mh bulb please do so and pardon the pun.

Hey Che Paddy,

I just finished a perfect 1st timer stellar grow and harvested on christmas, my best ever! Everything looks awesome, the ladies are shining! I flowered a VISC Virgin and a VISC Y2K at 10"-12" and the Virgin was just almost 5ft when cut, the Y2K was 3.5 ft when cut. One was more sativa dominant and the other indica but, if i were you i'd flower them at just under 1ft, when flowered plants grow more during the first few weeks of flower, they shoot up then out, then bud If you had more space to work with then yea i'd let them veg a little more but for what your shooting with id flip em at 12" max!

Everything looks great hope you get great bud, this is what i got! My 1st grow blew my mind! Cheers!

I always count from the second node,or till its a foot tall, but i also use a "pinch" technique where I pinch the top at 6" then at 12" this stops them growing a few days but causes the lower branches to catch up with the top, so when its almost done in 12/12 the whole plant, will be mostly the same height, this also makes the stem fat where I piched it allowing more nutrients to be carried to the top some call this supercropping, I just call it smart

Have been reading doing some study on using lst or supercropping plants. Plan to fim the plants too in order to produce more budding areas. Does anyone have experience of using these techniques on White widow and do they respond well to them. If i was to fim them when should that be done first. I know it should only be done in the veg stage.

Just booked my flights to visit my mate in rotterdam next week. Twice in 2 months. Starting to get a taste for that city. Might have a few days in eindhoven too. Cant wait :joint::hump:

Decided to fim my plants today. they are about 8 in tall and i hope ive done it okay. fimmed at the plants not just the older ones. Been looking at pics of ww and they seem to be more stretched than mine who seem to have internodes closer together. Is it better to have them a little stretchy or small and compact together

Noticed one or two small spots where the leaf seems to be a slightly different colour but I think that is because of sprayin them with seaweed extract just before the lights go out. Am not to worried for the minute as it doesnt seem to be too serious. A piece I read said that the veg starts from when they pop their little heads through the surface. If so that means they have been in veg for 24 days. As I mentioned Im going to Rotterdam on thursday for five days so hopefully flower them the day after I get back. At that stage they will have had 35 days of veg.

My grow buddy and I have also decided to buy a grow tent for flowering. Im also waiting on delivery of a cool tube as the HPS floodlight i have gives off too much heat and it seems a worthwhile investment. Hopefully the cooltube will arrive in the next couple of days and the tent will arrive shorty afterwards. Anyway heres some pics from yesterday

I'm sure most people on this site would agree that veg starts when the second set of leaves develop. There's a specific name for that first set of leaves that only have one section but I cant remember it. They're only for keeping the seedling alive and then the leaves with multiple sections (like 3 then 5 then 7 etc.) are what really do the veg growth. So 5-7 days after sprout breaks surface is usually when veg starts. And I wouldn't spray anything on the plants unless you're addressing a problem you already have. My plants are doing great without any of that, why risk the burn spots? But to each his own, it's hard to tell you to change things when the plants look good. Nice work!

And is it the camera/lighting, or is that one plant blue. That looks crazy!

I wish it was the plant that had a shade of blue which Ive seen before and is class but unfortunately it is a combination of the camera and the light. The seaweed extract that I'm using on them I feel is well worth it as foliage growth gets a major spurt after each spraying. I@m not drowning them in it just a slight misting. I think I just did it a little too soon before the lights went off the other night. As I said for the minute I'm not too stressed about it. The plants seem to be healthy enough and I'm happy with their progress. If the problem develops then I'll panic.

The reason I am growing my own supply was confirmed last night as I purchased a bag that is half weed and half sand. There is a drought so can't be picky but just wish they could grow faster so I don't have to shell out hard eared cash for crap. Rant over

Sucks, man. That happens where I live every year only during the month of August for some reason. Can't find anything but seed-ridden brown filth. Hence the timing of my grow. Projected harvest: late july:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

Ours can happen at any time of the year. As soon as any seizure happens from the wonderful law enforcers of ours a week later there will be a serious drought that can last weeks and only high priced scraps of back to smoking soapbar and pulling plastic out of it. Had a sneaky snip off my lowryder just for the taste because of this. Hopefully though I can get my sog going and then theres no problem:weed:

Lots has happened since my last update. Well my attempt at fimming wasnt great. Ended up only getting one right and now that has 4 tops but the others i just cut the tops of the leaves. we are trying it once more to see can we be more successful.

They are now 38 days from seed and not sure how long they have been vegging. We bought a grow tent and that was completed and fitted today.. My cooltube arrived from germany however dopey delivery guy broke it but Head nature.com (free plug) were great and after i emalied them the pics 2 hours later i got a email to say it would be replaced free of charge. Top service.

The grow tent is almost complete. just need to find my carbon filter which has been lost in the post and then we're sorted. Also bought a 100mm ruck fan. The plants have been moved into the grow tent under a 400 mh for growth in the final week before they are switched to 12/12. Slowly reducing the amount of light day by day.

Will post pics and hopefully people can give me some imput or opinions.

Have just read a journal and they are saying that white widow must be vegged for at least 8 weeks in order to get the full potency from them. Has anyone had experience of vegging them for less but still getting good results.

The white widows i have are from Dutch passion and i got 100% sprout rate even if one of them is a runt. Because of this i decided to stick with dutch passion and have purchased 5 fem Brainstorm beans and 5 fem Twilight beans. Im looking for funky plants and these two strains seemed to fit the bill. Again looking for peoples experiences with either of these 2 strains. Hopefuul they will arrive after the weekend and will be germed straight away.

Nice, I thought we had lost you when I didn't see any new posts for a week. Please don't veg those for eight weeks. You will definitely run out of room. Plants at least double in size during flower so if you were to start flower now, that tent will be really full by the end. If you wait until eight weeks you will need a second tent. I'm pretty sure that all marijuana strains that aren't autoflowering are sexually mature 4-5 weeks into veg, even White Widow.

Finally have my veg room started and the mother has been put in there. The other four are been given 24hours darkness before they are been flowered. Took eight clones and they are in a propagator

Havent got any pictures till tommoro but today i noticed some yellow patches on some of the leaves. They were given a feed a few days ago and im scared they have nute burn. Its on all the plants but only really on one or two leaves per plant. After seeing it today we flushed them with a good amount of water to try sort it out. Weve been eyeballing the nutes but we got a syringe for measuring nutes in future.

Im using advanced nutrients monkey juice grow and bloom however it is the coco coir one. I didnt think that would be a problem even though im only using soil. Has anybody any experience with these nutrients or problems they may cause.

What a coincidence. I am using the exact same stuff, but with actual coco of course. I would be careful. Coco specific nutes are designed with different levels of nutes because coco is pretty much a hydro medium. Your soil retains nutrients better so the levels will build up faster. I recommend you flush those plants pretty regularly (every two weeks) if you want to continue with these nutes. Start by flushing right now to stop that burning. I really like the Monkey Juice but it is strong. Don't go into those "aggressive feeding" doses, my plants were huge and healthy staying at or below 600ppm (2mL/L for veg, 1.75mL/L for flower). And you didn't mention which one you're using right now but you want to switch to the flower(bloom) nutes as soon as you switch to 12/12. I know a lot of other people will say different but you can check my grow journal if you have doubts. Hope this helps. Advance Nutrients are the shit.

Well Im starting to get a little worried. I had perfect plants but over the last few days stuff seems to be going wrong. First i had what i think was nute burn. Ive flushed them twice so im hoping that will help them. Switched them over to 12/12 today. Been slowly increasin the hours of darkness over the last few days. However ive noticed today that all the new growth is a really bright yellowy green compared the older darker growth. Is this because they are been put into flower or is it a problem. A mate had a outdoor guerilla grow last year and he said his did the same. Just wondering if anybody cause shed some light on it.

The first pic is of what i think is nute burn and the rest is of the new yellow growth on the plants. Also the mother that i moved to the veg room has no nute burn or any of the yellow growth although shewas treated exactly the same with feeding. the only difference is that she is still on 18/6

Occasionally I get spots like your first pic too. I never really worry about it. I think it might be from getting water or nutrients splashed on there but I honestly don't know what causes it. I do know something about that yellowing, though. It is perfectly normal. They are transforming!!! Don't stress it, your plants look great to me.
