ObamaCare, where's the money coming from?

Are there are any adults in here willing put their politics aside and explain where the insurance companies are going to make up the lost revenue of dropped policy premiums from small businesses.

Below is the governments penalty (tax) structure.

"Not obtaining insurance in 2014 will cost a person $95 or 1% of his or her income, whichever is higher. In 2015, it's $325, or 2% of income. For families, the penalty will be $285 per household or 1% of income, whichever is greater. By 2016, it goes up to $2,085 per family or 2.5% of income. Penalties will rise each year"

I own a typical small business (under 50 employees) in California, I'm not mandated by state or federal law to provide healthcare insurance to any of my employees but this is what I choose to pay for their healthcare plans.

Between me, my wife and employees, I pay close to $5k a month for an HMO (Kaiser).
Now that the ACA is law, I can rest assured that my employees and their families will have healthcare. They can also now afford to pay the 1% annual penalty tax of approx. $500 - $2,085, even if I decide to cover their penalties (taxes) I will save $20,000-$50,000 a year, if I don't there is no question that their taxes will go up substantially.
I'm sure most all small businesses will make a calculated decision and follow suit.

Our insurance company is getting about $58,000 a year for seven policies, with the ACA fines, (taxes) in 2013-2014 the federal government collects about $3,500 a year, where's the remaining $53,000 coming from?

Your missing the penalty you would face also which doesn't cover it, essentially the government is just stealing our money for no damn reason as always.

Where's all the pro Obamacare supporters and their deficit saving talking points now that the facts are smashing them in the teeth? Why won't you admit the government sold you dolts a bill of goods that was an outright lie.

If any of you received your healthcare insurance from your employer, your taxes just went up through the roof.
Enjoy! LOL

My guess is the money will come from a 20% deductible. Since people will be forced to pay this free health care, they'll feel it's wasteful not to use it. This "coverage" supplier and health providers will collude to give even higher prices. People will have even more debt. This will also let collection companies to buy free health care debt. Everyone loses but those running the show.

Paying the penalty doesn't insure you. You will still be uninsured. Your employees may be covered by the expanded Medicaid provisions if 1) you pay them shitty, AND 2) your state opts into the program. Both must be true. As the new law doesn't fund the new expanded Medicaid, most states (especially the nearly bankrupt) will not be able to participate without massive tax increases. Expect rates to go up 20-40% above the usual 5-15% it goes up every year. If you have 50 or more employees, fire enough to get below 50. It could be worse, if you're a senior citizen, $600 Billion will be cut from Medicare. Private providers will increasingly refuse to serve both Medicare and Medicaid patients as the government continues to cut reimbursement rates. There will be a huge increase in emergency room visits by the misinformed who think paying the penalty means they are insured, only to be refused service by private practitioners. Many hospitals will be unable to sustain these losses and will close their doors. However, the new law will do exactly what it was intended to do, get Obama re-elected. My advice is to sell your business while you still can, renounce your citizenship, and move to another country. Renounce your citizenship before you sell the business to avoid capital gains tax, like the Facebook guy did.

While Ill agree about government authority, but that's not the main point this bill will go one of two ways, increasing our insurance premiums(taxing us) to astronomical levels or bankrupting our insurance companies this is a lose lose. People are just starting to figure out the first few years the young ill pay 96 bucks while the non insurable will slam the system and we will pay for it dearly in premiums.
