People are victims of crime all the time, doesn't mean we have the right to shoot the shit out of people because we are afraid. Then everyone carries a bigger gun in case the other team has guns too. Or people get paranoid that they might become a victim of crime and that gives them the right to do something as drastic as SHOOT somebody? I've been attacked several times but I honestly don't think a gun would have made the situation any better.

Sad...

Kuroi, nobody has the right to "shoot the shit out of" anybody. That's pejorative language. Let's not blame the gun. cn

In all honesty Kuroi, that guy straight up murdered that kid. We are not talking about shooting people for fun or because we don't like how they look, we are only talking about the right to defend ourselves.

People are supposed to be the moral compass. Owning a gun does not make you a criminal nor does it make you a good person. Your moral standards should definitely be well established before you purchase a fire arm. But as long as there are criminals and people intent to do harm that are most likely carrying illegal weapons or stolen ones...well then, my guns stay loaded.

P.S. Safeties are for pussies. My finger is the only safety I need. Lol!!

i dont think any one said shot someone if scared
thats wrong if there was no agression

others somewhere in post said bitch should be shot
even thou she should have been slammed to floor for acting like she did telling someone u will kill them u will kill them does not by usa law make it right to shot them
u can only meet violence with equal violence
and 21 states have stand your ground laws or castle laws based on old english rule of u can defend your castle

so all those bashing usa learn our fucking laws before u talk shit on usa
we have rights and someone in canada or uk is not going to tell me what the fuck i can do in my country
people have degrees of rights in their country like right to unlawful search and such
if u dont exercise your rights u lose them

dont be sheep
and that was not really directed at one person on this thread just rambling

Driving in the Bay Area taught me that my finger can be a decided "unsafety". cn

I've owned a firearm almost all my life. I've never had to fire it at anyone. I'll be damned if the day comes that I need to and I don't have one. If the situation arises in which I need to fire one of my weapos it will be with the intent to kill or severly wound and it will be because my life is in danger. You may go your whole life without getting in a car accident but that doesn't mean you shouldn't wear your seatbelt. You never know when that 1 time can be.

Exactly. In north america, more people have died from auto accidents than firearms. Irresponsible use of a vehicle is much more deadly than that of a pistol. A lot of people don't really get it, but in military terms, pistols are only used to get yourself to a REAL gun. Think of all the fuckwads who drive drunk or act stupid behind the wheel. Then, think of the people (in Canada, anyway) who can't be criminals and have gone through the footwork and jumped through all the hoops to acquire a license to own a gun. The level of responsibility applied to firearms does not get applied to cars, but it should! The properly licensed people I know (myself included) are incredibly responsible. I'm armed too, have grown up with guns, always respecting them. Only ever loaded them at the range, always stored properly, its a great hobby and part of our culture. Yes we have our own culture, and its not just guns and beer. Or beer and bacon! If people weren't killing people with guns, it would be knives. If not knives, spoons! If there is a will, there is a way. And it doesn't make it "easier". Its way easier to slip a garotte over someone's head, or use petrol, or a long stick sharpened into a spear... No noise, no screams, AND you *get* to be close and personal with your opponent. Guns, spray and pray for the most part, and messy.. with all kinds of forensics after the fact. In the hands of an experienced shooter, they're not going to be irresponsible.

Incorrect. According to the FBI there are approximately 230 million registered and unregistered firearms in the U.S. not counting military or law enforcement. According to the Bureau of Transportation there are approx. 65 million cars.
