I am really starting to think that it was the fact that I used salt softened tap water. I did a PH test on my medium and it was around 5.5-6.0; that is a little to acidic for the plants liking. What tastes good is not good for plants, right? So, I went to the local water shop after I went to the hydro store and I re-upped my water supply. I did a flush with R/O and salt leaching solution yesterday. Today, I checked on the PH and it was back within spec. 6.5-7.0. They still look horrible... but they are noticeably improving. The one that is the worst off is Blue Hash. That girl is looking rather homely.
I use tap water... No water conditioning... If you are using soft water you will need cal mag or super thrive... I recommend super thrive.... Loaded with calcium

Quantum Bad Boy (8 bulb) using a mix of coral bulbs. She is growing in a F & D rig using lava rock and full compliment of DM Gold nutes. I flood ~ 40 minutes during lights on; ~ 3 hours light off. Barely one month ago she was just 17" tall with zero side branching.

Gifted beans. I have no clue what the pheno is. Until it started flowering it looked Indica dom, now Sat dominant. Primary leaves are larger than my wide open hand: main stalk is diameter of my middle finger, and growing. She is ~ 7ft tall. I had to snap her main cola at 4ft cause I ran out of room to raise the light. That branch is now 3ft + loaded with 3-6" colas. She is 4 feet wide, with ~ 13 colas @> 12" and a whole bunch 3-8"s.

Now 3 full weeks into flower.

Softened water should never be used. No matter what else you add
I dont under stand why people use it but they do...

The tap water in PHX was extra trace elements and shit you want to grow with.. I dont know about drinking it... I had the city come out to my house For Free and test water... High in calcium and iron

Fuck that Phoenix water sucks you're lucky . My ppm from my faucet is 1000 I will only use R/O water. Plus R/O water is about as close to rain water as you can get.

If you use tap water you HAVE to let water sit 24 hours to allow the small traces of Chlorine to dissipate out.. you are getting high ppm reading because of the chlorine... After letting the water set over night it should drop to about 200-400 ppm... It is not bad there is a PPM reading.. It is a sign there is some type of element in the tap water... I totally recommend Tap water and have NEVER used RO water... there is almost no way to get some of the micro nutrients that are found in tap water....

Time has nothing to do with knowledge!
Advice.. Do you know your Macro and Micro nutrients? research what RO water is... I mean the elements that it contains...

Reverse osmosis prevents formation of certain minerals on the surface of electrodes..

have you ever heard of nutrient lockup?
You are more likely to run into this with RO water than tap water... Does not mean you can't use RO water I just have reasons...

Yes I do, why do you assume we dont know these things? I understand there are trace elements that you feel help your plants. I have done enough gardening to know whats in my water I can go online and pull that info from the cities web site and tell you all about it. Timing has everything to do with knowledge the more time you spend in a profession the more knowledgeable you become and with that knowledge you also receive " hands on training" and that my friend surpasses knowledge in the growing world.

Don't get your panties in a bunch BUT..............

If you have to look on a website you likely lack the knowledge of what you are looking up.... FACT.. Why would you look it up if you know?
Not trying to argue with you just was mentioning facts about RO water...

Yes you are right... The more time you spend DOING something the more knowledge you will gain... Example.. Because it has been 4 years and you have only harvested a few times does not mean you have knowledge.... I am still learning and have over 15 harvest under my belt... Not counting the Fuck ups when I first started (at least 4-5 harvests)...

wait let me go look up the ABC's online but I really do know them... BS

Surpasses knowledge? Hands On Training? what is this that you speak of?

if your tap water is over 500 PPM i would contact the EPA or local water company to take a sample of water...

Dude you come off like a know it all but you dont really know much, I just read your post from my old grow thread and wow you really amazed me there you seem not to know anything about a sealed environment and using co2 in a grow you can read all you want but your posts prove otherwise. You did the same thing to Fatboy a grower I have known for years with extensive knowledge in growing. Believe me I dont get upset at know it all newbs like you who post on here. Yes "hands on training" you know like actually doing the work not just reading about it.
