Plants do that if you have them in veg long enough, if I'm not mistaken. It isn't always a guarantee that they're the sex you think they are, but there is a good chance.

Yeah, I don't think it's a problem to keep vegging. The plants will live indefinitely as long as they have the light cycle they need.

Yes, that's how people keep mother plants for cloning. They just keep them on a 12/12 forever and just keep taking cuttings.

EDIT: I meant 24/0 or 18/6. I don't want anyone reading this and receiving wrong information on my behalf.

correct me if im wrong... but if you put a plant in 12/12 it will bud, right? lol

dont mother plants need to stay in at least a 17 hour light?

So if I just leave her be she wil be fine? I Fimmed her 3 days ago. and there isnt any new tops yet.

And there are at least 5 nodes showing pistles.

I've never actually grown plants, but I believe they will be fine, although I can't say from experience. I've read extensively on the subject, however. You did say you were using a 400w bulb, so maybe give it a little more time for the new tops to show?

Yea a 400 watt. But i have 3 other plants. 1 is about 10 inches with 4 tops. the other 2 are just babies still, Ima wait until they are all ready,
even though the 10 incher will be huge by the time they are all ready. im planning on buying a 250 to put the other 2 in while they mature

check out my journal :D

So shes 8 inches huh. That's big enough for me. When plant are in flowering they grow like 1-2 feet during the 8 week flowering period. So your gonna have a pretty big plant if you start now. Best bet to start within like 5 days days so that topping you did heals properly.

How long did the 10 inch plant take to show all of it's new growths after the fimming? I'll definitely check out the journal. I've just ordered my 1000w ballast and am about to start my first grow. I like looking at journals and seeing what works/doesn't work for people. Be sure to check mine out when I start my grow.
