Next round gonna get the square/rectangle buckets so that LSTing is easier (can put nails directly in the hard plastic to tie down to, and the squares/rectangles make the best use of space in a tent).
also going to go with the SCRoG method next time round ;)

Hey All, they are finishing up the 2nd week of Flowering...WOOO!!! :)

Ran into a some issues around day 9 of flowering though when the bottom 1/4 of my plants all wilted, then yellowed, then died. I think the issue was a combination of not enough light to the lower branches and some N deficiency. Last feeding gave them a shot of Grow Big (veg nute) which has N and they are lookin a bit better today.

Anyways, here are some shots!
carmel2top.jpggroupenter.jpgcarmel1top.jpggbtop.jpgf13top.jpg

First shot is one of the Carmelicious from above, my favorite of the 2 Carmels.
Second shot is a group shot from the door of the tent.
Third shot is the other Carmelicious from above, then the Green Bud, and the last shot is the F13 which is tied down.

These are some side shots of the ladies, as you can see two of the plants have been trimmed from 1/4 down, this is because all those leafs wilted and eventually died. I left the leafs on one of them as you can see to see the difference between trimming off and leaving on.

Here are some up close bud shots...

Can anyone give some tips of how to get bud shots without the bright yellow effect from the HPS light? Thanks and enjoy...!

Also, can anyone give some tips of good tools for putting holes into my soil without damaging the roots? I need to airate it a bit, doesn't seem to be holding water very well!

they look awsome bro! about the hps pics, you could wait till lights off time or jus turn it off for a few min, then take pics with flash, or bring in a lamp er something then a flash..

for airiating i use that 2 prong moisture/light/ph meter. so i guess anything no bigger than a pen should work..

and again your girls are lookin realy nice

looking sweet... i seem to also have a nitro def when i go into flowering and my leaves start to turn yellow as well. I do the exact same thing you have, give a Nitro nute boost. Your internodes are nice and tight, exellent! is your light at that hieght for the photo session or do you always keep it so high? i would def lower it to about 18 inches from the tops of the girls for max benifit.
I dont understand why you want to airate your roots 80Degz your smart pots are terrific for that. Everything is really coming along lovely and your going to get some huge monter colas!!! take it easy, Dr. Trichome

Hey Doc! Thanks for stopping by, was getting lonely in my corner haha :)
The light in that image is actually 18" from the top of them, some reason the image makes the space look huge!
One of the plants is slightly taller than the rest though, so I measure from the top of that one.

I wanted to airate the roots because I've been noticing that when I water my plants, in 5 gallons smart pots, they can barely take 1 liter of water before leaking all over the floor.
I've read that signs of a plant being root bound are 1) hard top soil 2) unable to hold water very well. Maybe I'm wrong, not going to do anything drastic this grow but I definitely will be doing a bit of root examining after the harvest to see if they were indeed bound.

Few more days and then I'll do week 3 flower updates :)
Btw, my feeding regement right now includes Botanicare Pro Bloom Plus Organic flowering nutes, Hygrozyme, and unsulphered molasses

By the way, anyone know how I can post the pictures so that they appear full size within the post? I think threads that are laid out with big images get more interaction, just lazy stoner intuition ;)

hey Eightee! sorry you felt so lonely buddy,! im sorry.
i have used smart pots before. What happened to me is that the top soil gets pretty hard and dense and the water was hard to penetrate ...so slowly very slowly pour your water into the pot and let it absorb slowly . wait be patient... Once it has penetrated the very top level it will go down easier. Your plant is NO NO NO way rootbound in that smartpot. Dont start messin with the root system. There are small roots on the top soil layer that should not be fucked with.:weed:

To get the image larger upload your image as usual. hoover the mouse over the image and you will see a pencil icon appear in the upper left corner. Right click this pencil ., A new table will appear with selections. Select make picture LARGE and submit. or Ok,, let me know if you get it or if i can help with anything else, no problemo buddy.

Nice plants! The only way to get the yellow out of the picture is to filter it out. Here are the pics taken into photoshop and touched up :). Unfortunately, since everything is saturated in yellow, i would have to select the buds and treat them differently from the leaves. but at least there is some green in it haha

Thanks Doc! Next post will have large shots ;)
Also @theinhibitor I think if I turn flash to "Always ON" then the flash will get rid of the yellow when the picture is taken, the photoshop looks great though!
