Soil recommendations for this next grow? Introducing Autoflowers and Autopots this round..

My current base setup:
3x3 GG Tent
Spider Farmer SE5000 480W LED grow light
AC Infinity 6" Inline Fan with carbon filter and smart controller
Multiple AC Infinity Fans (REALLY want to change these to oscillating type)

This planned grow:
Seeds: Anesia Seeds Auto Deep Jealousy
Just 2 plants this time (always done 4 before)
Pots: 3.9 Gallon Autopots but I "might" start the seeds in solo cups ( I realize there is a lot of debate on transplanting of autos)

Typically on soil grows, I have always used some sort of Fox Farm product mixed with perlite BUT I have also always needed to do a lot of additional nutrients fed when I water them to get through all the grow cycles. I really don't want to have to put nutrients in the main water reservoir as that takes away my ability to do water and cal mag only some waterings and specific nutrients on others. I keep seeing things about soils (living?) that can (for the most part) take you through the whole grow and just using tap water without much concern over Ph levels of the water. Was thinking maybe a layered approach where the bottom 1/3 would be full strength soil and then the middle would be maybe a 50/50 with the main soil mixed with something not so hot and then a top layer that wouldn't burn even a seedling. I realize with the autopots that I have to let the roots get well established before turning it on since they will now bottom feed instead of top feed. So... any recommendations on the best soil for these goals would be? I've heard some good things about Coast of Maine? Also, with these goals in mind, would I need to still amend the soil at some point with something like a tea or something? The whole bottom feeding thing is a new concept for me and as usual, I am scared of screwing chit up. I've never done autoflowers before nor have I ever used autopots before. I guess apparently I run my lights a lot more throughout the whole grow with autoflowers? I've heard 20 on and 4 off for the whole damn grow??? That's wild. LOL

Thanks!!!!

I went with coast of maine with lobster shells, about 1/2 coco, handful of bat shit and chopped sea shells. I started 4 autoflower 36 days ago.
The big one is 20 inches tall and all are in flower mode. About week 2 started to get fruit flies I did a top dressing of nematodes and peat. The fly issue went away.
One of my plants needs more water and nutes more than the other three think I didn't get a good mix with soil. & had to use 2 gallon pots for two instead of 3 gallon pots due to placement of humidifier

I started the lights on seedling setting for 18/6 with 75% power on lights increased it daily 5% to 100% then I switched setting to Veg growth. I increased the hours by 30 minutes at day to 20 hours light on. I plan at day 40 to start decreasing light to 18 hours and switch to flowering mode.

Feeding started after week two when a plant showed needs, had been under thought that with soil feeding is less. But for last 2 weeks been giving 1/2 gallon a pot with feed every 3 days.

In saying this I am new at this also, but treating it the same way I would race engineer a formula car......

Not sure about the whole layering idea, like putting a stronger mix in the bottom and lighter on top. A seedling will drop roots down to the bottom of the pot in a couple weeks no matter how it's layered. I'd start in smaller pots or solo cups with a lighter mix, then transplant to their final container with a stronger mix.

The thing about water-only soil is that it has to have enough nutrients to feed the plant for its whole life, but not be so concentrated that it burns or causes issues. The easiest way to do that is to use a mix that's not super strong (think your standard bagged potting mix plus about 2 cups of dry amendments per cubic foot), and grow in large containers (10 gallons or more). That or have a really short veg time, which can be difficult to predict if you're growing autos.

I have no experience with auto-pots, but I've had good results with two of these in a 3x3 tent: https://www.agardenpatch.com they hold about 11 gallons of soil, which is enough for a water-only grow unless you're growing monsters.
