Nice thread you got here westy.. I think this was definately needed on here.
I just want to ask the room a few questions on there crosses :
whats the main aim when you cross a plant ? To get a bigger yeild ,better smoke or something else?
Is there a strain thats good to cross with ie doesnt over power but adds wieght?
I want to try something out myself soon not sure what . Any suggestions or info plz

PS.
Can any of you fellow Dog growers look at my pic in sig, looks like its forming 2 tops?

cant really see in that pic dr, did u top it? I found they go well topped. In my crosses it started out just crossing the clone onlys to get seeds that would be mosat like the clone onlys but as its gone on its turning into something difrent as the tastes are coming through. Spoze its jus a difrent thing at the end really yeilds havent been much on the list. But then if u know what ya doing any plant will yeild for u.

Im going to get my cam by monday so ill have better pics soon, i aint topped it .

How many times haves you crossesd a plant ? If its from clone only does that mean you added a male pollen to it ?or did any hermie?
can you take out the hermie trait by cloning with any strain?
Whats the best of your work so far? Soz for the 20 question bruv .

Anybody want to recall the strains in here at the mo plz.

1/I have 3rd generation selfed headband seeds. I have a few F2 regulars. Westy has a few criss crosses though, lol.
2/I think the answer to your Q is No. But you could add pollen from a male sac from either a male plant, or a plant you have forced to become male, or a herm plant, or any plant that produces male pollen sacs.
3/ If you are using pollen from a herm plant you will certainly get herm plants, but some will and some won't in my experience.
4/ Possibly. It's a trait you can work out of a strain through age and cloning in my experience. You can certainly breed to remove and enhance particular traits.
5/I'll let Westy answer that Question

Wow, that would take a bit. theres a few reports at the start, and if you follow you'll soon catch up, lol.

When you know something in your bones, you know something in your bones. And knowing that crossing MR West's DPQ with the Casey Jones would be a winner, was, as I say, "a very strong feeling in my bones." And after snipping the first one down today I have lets say got a SEMI!!! You can feel the weight in the bud for start off (off course it's wet, but those who grow dank know what I mean.)

So here's the first ED chopped.

Okay, off to do some skipping for real, Muay Thai training tonight!:bigjoint::leaf:

I put the Papaya and NYPD seedlings in 1/2gal bags today with FFOF where they'll most likely stay until they get cut down. Being bummed about the Heri seed getting it's top broke off and the one JDB that didn't pop is making me want to go ahead and germ a couple more so I don't have just one of each strain going. I want to germ a couple beans of the Afghan Kush/RBC cross though too so I'm not sure yet which will get to occupy the available space in the veg room.
I'll be stoked to get a male of the JDB and the Heri so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

I'll be pollenating a Dog with some RBC pollen in a couple weeks too which I'm a little excited about. I think it should be an interesting cross.

Hey cof, we must have post there at the exact same time. She is looking lovely, can't wait to sample. I spoke to my friend about the Heri the other day. I mentioned to him that I was growing it back when the fairy dropped it off. Anyway, he was saying when it first came out no one was really keen on it (due to the name and the supposed heavy stone) funny how consumers can be. It has a very strong floral smell to it, but when you dig deeper there are pines, sour and sweet notes. I didn't really find it the nicest smoke, but then to be fair it is still curing.

I am a tool and going to have to ask what RBC is Dez? sorry, heads a bit fried with some deep psychosis, and I always get super high after a training session.hehe.

RBC = Raspberry Cough there D.
Here's the info available on Nirvana's site:
Additional Information

DescriptionWith its clear, uppy yet calming effects, Raspberry Cough comes highly recommended as a medical marijuana strain. Its mother is a Cambodian landrace with especially high THC levels, and its father is our award-winning marijuana strain Ice. Raspberry Cough is an F1 cross with an abundance of red hairs and a tendency to develop blue hues in cooler night/dark temperatures. Raspberry Cough's aroma and flavour have a hint of Asian spice, yet taste decidedly of Dutch marijuana. The tall, somewhat thin plants can be grown very closely together for maximum yields of prime cannabis.

Indica / Sativa:Predominantly SativaPlant type:IndoorPlant height:TallEffect:High (cerebral, heady effect)Flavour:pungent / fruityAverage yield:400 - 500 (g/m² in SOG)Flowering period:9 - 11 weeksWhite strain:YesMedical:YesFeminized:No

Alright all. Need some help with me Stud DPP x JTR. Its now in flower and i'm not quite ready to let it loose on the girl's yet. Basically, how long does it need to flower for before the pollen is good? And what's the best way to collect some and keep for laters? I know they'r broad Q's, so any help will be great!
DSC01806.JPGDSC01805.JPGDSC01807.JPGDSC01808.JPG not got an exact date on how long its been flipped for, prob 4-5 weeks ?
