7 ounces from 6 plants and a $1500 monthly electric bill is not a very good trade off! In fact, it really sucks!
You would be better served by either going to a dispensary or street dealer. BB

How many kilowatts you pulling a month? That sounds a bit crazy for the lights @ 6kw/hr. I'd double check the bill and the meter and give edison a call. They read my friends meter wrong a while back and he got hit with a $2200 bill. He paid it then found out 2 months later the meter was about 15000kw off.

Since you're running a lot of power on 12/12 you might want to call them up and see about moving to time of usage billing rather than domestic tiered.

You gotta be a complete MORON to steal electricity for your grow. Anyone who does, your a bust waiting to happen, and it will only be a matter of time. It is not hard whatsoever for the electric company to trace back to where all that energy is going to, once they catch on, and they will eventually. I do appreciate that idiots like that exist though, as they serve the purpose of keeping the heat off of me. Enjoy your stay at the state pen. :peace:

try and pull off a 10k watt plus grow in a non med state w/o stealing power, and see how long that lasts...

I just dont get it. i run just over 2500 watts in 1 building with a/c and my house with a/c and my bill is less than 300.00 a month.sounds like the neighbor is stealing power from you.
PG&E's 5th tier is .44 kwh so if he lives at where he is growing you can end up on the 5th tier pretty easily. The baseline in some areas is also pretty low.

everybody wants to rag on stealing power... with your small ass grows..... anything under 6k watts is a small grow to me personally from a commercial standpoint.. if you wanna be a forreal grower and your not legal in a legal state your left with two options... generators, or stealing power...its clear to me most of you guys are running petty persoanl grows so you have no room to speak on higher mass production

Well you can get a generator or you can easily just setup a small shop. Buy yourself some welders, compressor, drill press, etc all handy stuff anyway. You can justify the power pretty easy. No one said you actually have to use the stuff, and the way I see it pretty much everything is a front anyway ..... right down to medical marijuana.

Well what about that Cave grow in Tenn.? (youtube it)
He was in a natural cave under ground with a secret 5 ton automatic door in the back of the garage. You could drive a truck down there. The way he got caught was stealing power. His setup made me drool.

Just pay for your supplies, easy

yeah lets buy all of those expensive tools to show to the authorities why the reason is for such power consumption... lol

I'm guessing your buds are light and fluffy (if you've grown in this set up before), which is almost certainly due to your temps. It sounds like you could afford extra ventilation... Ideally, you would want enough ventilation so that so that your garage has the potential to get within a few degrees more than the outside temp (where you would be drawing fresh air in from). Get rid of some lights, and get some moving tracks for your lights! Your bill will go down and your buds will be better!

end of the day its a fact that stealing electricity is up there in the top reasons why people get busted.
but who knows you might get away with it for a while or even forever its your choice.

Yeah that's the one, i have never seen it with live plants growing in it. I heard a cheese maker bought the cave to work his craft in.

But telling people to steal power and not have to worry is bad advice. The power company knows something is wrong, they are probably more worried about power dumping into the ground causing a dangerous situation. They will track down the leak...JR

That TN Pot Cave was seriously fucking awesome. That guy is one of my heros. It's a shame that he stole power like an idiot, and didn't just buy a large generator. If I was gonna go that far with it, I would for damn sure buy a few huge diesel generators to power everything. He even had a heavy steel door installed and setup like a vault. I would be in heaven in that place. That is a damn shame he got busted.

They're only as expensive as you want them to be. If you're not going to use them you obviously just get some older equipment which often times means it uses more power anyway. Myself I'd rather pay the few thousand in tools to justify it, than to have to pay double that for an attorney while facing jail time. You have to think about the long haul if you want to get away with it. Stealing power is the quick fix.

From what I remember that was in an old missile silo.

12 years ago, in SoCal, I started a business called "The Pot Shop". It was a small storefront with 3000 sq. foot warehouse. I acquired 2 large used pottery kilns and set them up in the front, along with $500 worth of potters supplies & green ware. We did a "nominal" legit pottery business in front, and full balls to the wall grow in back, with NO questions, EVER, regarding our electric consumption. BB
