why you don't tie down the buds?
it will let you lower the light and get more even lightning.

Then you should remove the lower growth to promote the energy of the plants to the buds.

Thats my understanding of SCROG.

Haha, thanks stonedcold, really happy with her so far.

The whole plant has been LST'd for weeks and the buds; as you can see, are nicely spread out and are getting an even spread of light.
Lowering the light anymore would mean the side buds would loose out on some lumens.
Unfortunetly I had to move her out of the house before flowering, so it wasn't possible to scrog her from day 1 which would have been preferable. If she was scrogged from day 1 there wouldn't be hardly any lower growth and every square on the screen would have a budsite, but as she's flowering, I'm cutting nothing and keeping her stress free.

You could just leave the side buds up and train down the middle buds creating a parabolic shape to match the light.
I don't use a screen but I tie down my plants to do so.

I use a 400w as well and I find that buds 7cm (3.5") from the light do much better than buds 20cm (10") from the light that do much better than buds 50cm (25") from the light.

1 problem using a screen

Want to give her a good flush with PH adjusted water but there is no way to move the plant into a sink or bath due to the buds growing through the screen.
She'll need about 16 litres of water to flush the 8ltr pot, may have to get a small pipe and siphon off the excess as it runs out of the bottom. Any suggestions?

*edit - fitted a big tray under the pot to catch run off, going to use a turkey baster to suck off the excess water.

I have my pots sitting in tupperware tubs & just suckem out with a cheepo Wallyworld wet dry vac. Like a charm.

Thanks GWN.

Just flushed them with tap water (been sat for 24hrs) + molasses.
I think the problem was actually the filtered water. The PH of the filtered water was about 6.5 (only have test strips) and adding the extra nutes lowered the PH.
From now on, only using tap water + nutes.

24 days flowering

Have raised the PH a little and given her a good post-flush feed with tap water and nutes.

Thanks NC.
Here's a lights off shot. The tallest bud is 22cm from the screen with a bit more buddage below screen. I've hopefully corrected the yellowing leaf issue, Organic nutes are slow to release so have to be patient.

Fantastic man!
Keep it up
Seeing your journal on the AK's made me also decide to go with bio on my white russians i'l be starting soon.

If anyone is interested, this is pretty much the way I've been feeding this plant (Found here, bottom of page) as I use all-mix soil, I go with that one, don't bother with BioHeaven.
The numbers are amount of product per litre per watering. It is recommended that you PH your water to 7 before adding nutes as the nutes will lower the PH to the right levels: 6.5 - 6.8

very very nice mate, do you recon you will get more yield from this one plant or those 3 auto's you did in your other journal?

Thanks stasis, the 3 autos got me 304g (including a few stems), don't think I'll get that off this WW but you never know!
Currently fighting a magnesium deficiency due to PH being off, a lot of leaves have yellowed and fallen off. Adding some Epsom salts tomorrow.

Here she is at 30 days flowering, had either a PH nute lockout or deficiency problem to deal with, she's continued to yellow and loose lower leaves.
Added a quarter teaspoon of Epsom salts to her regular feed yesterday to give her a little magnesium boost, hoping she will perk up.

Very nice bro, you should lollipop the bottom buds that aren't getting any light, that way ur top buds will get bigger.

Looks like N. defficiency to me. How much N is in your solution?

Your buds look great!
rip off any lower growth that doesn't get light. the plant will just use a lot of energy keeping them alive. at the end the buds that get very small emounts of light will not be worth manicuring.
It will also help the air flow alot. air flow is your friend.

Thanks Claptoman,
I really couldn't tell if it was MG or N deficiency. And I don't actually think it was a deficiency at all, more a PH lockout. I'm no expert and have never had any problems growing before using the exact same biobizz nutes, the only different thing I did this grow was use Brita filtered water which has a much lower PH compared to the tap water. When I started adding nutes to the filtered water, the PH must have gone lower than I thought and locked out some vital stuff.
The Veg food I give about 1/3 teaspoon every water contains amongst other things - 8% Nitrogen & 4% ammonium nitrogen.
The Bloom food I give about 1 full teaspoon every water contains 2% nitrogen & 0.9% ammonium nitrogen.

A lot of the lower leaves have mostly fallen / been gently plucked off as they've yellowed and crisped up, so plenty more air flow there.
I think she's on the healing path now, do you think she'd benefit from a little N boost? What's a good, easy source of N?

The PH change can cause nutes blockout, creating a deficiency.
On your next watering check carefully that the ph is correct after adding nutes.
If that doesn't fix the issue, add some N.
Using the brita might cause MG an Calcium defficiency. Using soft water often calls for adding MG and Cl.
I have no clue about how well brita filters thoes.
If you have a calmag product, use it as well.

with some strains I have problems using the biobizz row of products by the chart.
my greatwhiteshark grows wonderfull going by the chart, while my whiterhino needs adjustments almost every watering.

DON'T LET THE BOTTOM LEAVES FALL. You still need them.
DON'T PLUCK YELLOW LEAVES!. If they haven't fallen on their own the plant can still suck up energy from them when it needs to.
Shake your plants every now and then to remove dead leaves (brown crispy ones).

An easy source of N is urine. In your stage use it diluted 1 to 15 parts of water.
