? Which state is herb most legal for personal grow and use

I am going to retire some day and would like to wind up in the right place. Which state in your opinion is most favorable to a small grow and smoke at home for a future retiree?

In Alaska, you are allowed one oz or less in your home with no legal drawbacks. Growing, though, is highly frowned upon and according to NORML "Maintaining any structure or dwelling, including vehicles, to use for keeping and distributing marijuana, is a felony offense and punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000." I think this includes growing...

Ann Arbor, Michigan is a super liberal town when it comes to marijuana laws. When I went to the University of Michigan we had the hash bash every year and if you got caught smoking weed it wasn't a criminal penalty, but simply a $25 civil infraction ticket. No court appearance. Also, homegrown was VERY abundant there, so I am guessing they were growing happily. Not much has changed, but it is definitely still a great city to live in.

CA is pretty damn lenient, depending on your county. Even in the most strict areas, you can legally carry about a pound, and grow 10+ plants. In some counties you can carry 3 lbs, and have 100 sq ft of canopy.

yep with medical recomendation u golden but lets all hope prob 5 this year decrimization it would then be an infraction not a misdeminor if u dont have a recomendation

Eventhough the Attorney General of California published a new guideline on medicinal cannabis cultivation, it serves my medicinal purposes. The amendment was for 12 immature plants and six mature plants with having a stockpile of 8 ounces in a year. Before that since I live in Humboldt County, it was 99 plants and you can have three pounds of processed in a years time.

yeah, but then again, off the same website it says:

'Possession of less than 25 plants is protected under the Alaska Constitution’s right to privacy (See Ravin v. Alaska). Possession of 25 or more marijuana plants is “Misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fourth degree” and is punishable by a fine of up to $50,000 or five years in prison.'

Alaska seems fairly lenient on personal grow ops as well. Don't know if I would want to retire there, but seems very pot friendly.

my friend got charged with a felony for not even carrying an ounce in Arizona, so i dont know what these people are saying about it being a leniet state. And if your that close, why not just cross over to cali, where noone truly cares about ganja.
