Well I actually use 6 inch square pots, but that's because I run a perpetual sog with 36-40 plants at different stages of flower. I grow under ground so I'm not as limited on numbers, and I found I would rather grow(and in the end trim) several single cola plants that don't take much veg time instead of bushes.

I've ran the same system with 4-6 plants in larger pots to grow them into a bushy canopy. 1.5 or 2 gallon fabic grow bags worked great in the flood and drain system. It would be real easy to put whatever number of plants you wanted in each tray and put SCROG screens right over them. The only reason I don't do this myself is because of how I run my perpetual under a single light.
Can i ask what youre averaging per harvest on the 4x4 table?

My LG hvac will run down to -35...then the sensor kicks it out. My hvac guy so " no worries " ...fingers crossed
3 years so far...ok

I harvest 10-12 plants at a time and get between 8-10 ounces per harvest. So on average we will say roughly 30 ounces from the whole 4x4.

That's trying to be fair and conservative. When things go smoothly for a while with the right genetics, that can go up to around 40 ounces.

Interesting. I was growing 8 plants about 3' each in a 4x8 space in soiless and was getting about 3.5 lbs per harvest. Seems like it doesnt matter how you cut it with plants/size the square footage harvests about the same... but hydro seems like it might less work... had to repot 3 time per crop.

Yep I agree, there are definitely ways to maximize g/sqft/w but all in all growing is growing there is lots of ways to do it and get a great outcome.

Eventually I hope to get some space to be able to do some experimental stuff. I haven't played with vertical yet but I've had friends that have killed it going vert.

I'd love to try growing a big bush in a "box" made from moveable LED covered walls.

Setting up an omega garden has always been a dream of mine too. I've got a few things I'd like to try with one of those!

I helped a guy harvest a thing very similar to an "Omega garden" or "volksgarden". It had 2 1000w hps in the middle and 28 trays that revolved around it. Each tray held 10 plants in 4" rockwool And they would grow a single large cola with very few underbuds. He would get 3.5 lbs a crop average he said. Pretty cool way to grow.

More plants, less time. Smaller plants are easier to trim IMO also.

Hydro is less work providing its problem free, but its still easier to put on a hose and open a valve than lug soil around.

Thanks for reminding me to look into RO units. Lugging water around is not fun...lol

I can answer some of your questions based on my own soil-less space, although I do not use CO2 (except some Exhale bags).

Lots of new mini-splits can go down to -30 now.
To run 64sq feet of res you need at least 160-200 gallon reservoir to flood 3-4 inches high on the 8x8 table. Preferably a bigger res, than a smaller res. I use 100G on 4x8 or 32 sq feet.
Ebb and flow is so much easier than RDWC at scale in my experience.

In my 10*15 room my dehu is 4500sq/ft dehu. That works if you keep your plants a reasonable size.

I wanted to do zero veg this run on my ebb and flow. But the plants took it so hard going from the water cloner to the table. Stems turned purple and I didn't want to switch to 12/12 until I saw nice green new growth again which was almost 2 weeks until I switched. But now my plants are 3-4 feet tall. So what I am wondering is if that transition time is even necessary, it has been so many years since I did SOG in ebb and flow and can't remember, but I don't want to fuck myself and my yield so the same thing keeps happening, lol. No complaints about yield though. I run 45 plants on a 8x4.
