No better in Hawaii
I’m getting lowballed to 100-125 a zip. Back to personal use grows for me
I am seeing a lot of east coasters within this thread and I feel their pain albeit I am in the middle of a complete shit show here in California. It's amazing what's happening out there right now. I wasn't aware that the islands are feeling it too. I have a timeshare on Kauai and I frequent the Big island.

I like what you had to say about growing personal and getting out of the dung heap. I spent some time out of state these last two months. Seems like my street has better smoke than what's selling for a higher dollar at the shop around the corner. My neighbors are all showing me better shit.

What's happening here is that folks aren't selling to retailers anymore because of how far prices have come down. One needs ponder four to five steps ahead of the curve. Here's what I mean...

With the introduction of micro brews BIG breweries started losing business. Mom and Pop shop brewers started taking their business because people want octane, they want flavor, they want quality and uniqueness. It's no different than what's happening with cannabis right now. Smart producers of higher quality cannabis need to consider a smaller tighter market kind of like what our wine proprietors do here in Napa, Sonoma and Paso Robles. Make a family name for yourself(if you're good at what you do) and your product will sell itself whence the shit show dies down and people figure out they're paying high dollars for mediocrity.

Either that or produce so much and be so large they can produce unit cost cheaper and sell tons more to more than make up for the price drop.

Trouble with that is that everyone starts producing more so the price goes down even more..
Kind of. The little guy goes out of business , then prices go back up. Supply will be drying up fast by the end of the season, according to harbour side, and they know this business.
Many many growers got burned out ,
Now they will not have the funds to renew the lease and tax's to renew the very expensive licenses next year.
Whole sections of northern California got torched where the majority of supply comes from.
There are more states that have went legal bring more supply on line but it would really take alot of supply to over come the loss in northern California .

So the consumer is just going to have to learn to like outdoor weed for a low price? I think the cheap outdoor weed is going to get processed and people will still prefer to smoke high quality indoor weed. When the day comes that I can buy high quality weed that I enjoy smoking for $1000/lb I will gladly shut my lights off and start buying it.

The problem is the outdoor guys I know of. Not all of them but many of them especially from the emerald triangle growers outdoor is CLOSE to the quality of indoor for half the price or less.
I do feel your pain though brother as I want good growers to make a decent living and think they should be paid for their very hard work, investment and risks they take in many cases.
Many of the dispensary's sale 25 dollars a gram because of tax's and regulations it will keep their prices very high making a market for black market growers to still function compete and profit

Agreed. I’ve gone in to plenty a dispensary in Portland literally can not see a visual difference between my greenhouse bud and what they are calling top shelf indoor.
Everything I grow is hand trimmed.
I also saw a posted receipt on Facebook of a dude in Californian (can’t remember the town) paid $225 for 10.5 grams!!
A tier 2 grower ( producer)friend of mine in Washington is getting .50 -.75 cents a gram for his outdoor!!

If i could pay $800 for a unit i wouldnt grow weed I'll just buy it.
I remember in the 90's when a unit of coke was 17, you had to cut that shit up, wait for a drought or wait for the out of towners and charge them a arm and a leg
Just wait until full out legalization and it gets below 300 a pound. I been sayjng this..our days are numbered. A few plants in the backyard if that. Might not even bother with that if (when) it gets cheap enough. Damn turning on a grow light. No matter how efficient they are getting. Save your bucks people. Something I should of did decades ago.

Iam still doing ok but NOTHING like the 90's and early 2000's. And every few months...prices get lower and lower. I honestly dont know what the fuk iam gonna do. I made bank over the years but pissed it all away.
