I totally agree, right now the only people doing this are specialty growers like the Jungle Boys, but their seeds don't spread, you have to go to exclusive dispensaries to get their stuff.

It will be great when dispensaries with 2000 plants can do this instead of me with 3 plants I can flower per roommate per flower cycle.

But those people aren't doing this yet. Maybe they'll start copying me and make some good strains, but for now I'm the only one trying to make amazing flavor strains accessible to everyone. And I'm not going to quit just because I can't grow 2000 plants right now.
Not quite the only one brother, I've been doin this for many years, breeding specialty strains. My thing is early translucent amber trics, something most are unaware of.

As for the African genetics, they are great for sure but don't expect the best out of em if ya don't feed em right. My current breeding project includes Durban and Mulanje

Best of luck to ya

I wonder how much of that is BS to be honest, I once heard of a UK seedbank when they were looking to name a new interesting strain they asked one employee what his favourite fruit was--and he said Strawberries--they then asked another guy what his favourite TYPE of weed was- and he answered '' I like Hazes '' so they named the new strain Strawberry Haze. If you specifically want to home in on African strains theres a good YouTube video called strain Hunters Swaziland which is a bunch of guys from the Greenhouse coofeeshop in Amsterdam going to Swaziland and looking for original African genetics to take home and develop--you might like it, check it out

And btw, I don't have my flower room even set up yet. I'm just letting the plants veg for now. But once I have a flower room I will start being able to make new crosses every 2 months. So if I did it for a year I could do 6 crosses, and I only plan on doing 3-4 with stabilization it will be 4-5 and if I decide to get a specific pheno i will do 5+

But after that strain is made I will use it to make other strains by mixing it 50%/50% with Landrace strains and dispensary strains.

Do you know of any African crosses, like Girl Scout Cookies, Cherry Pie, Durban X C99, etc?

Well I actually only found 1 thread on the entire internet where people were "reviewing" Banana Crack. Like 3 people had tried it, everyone else was arguing if $60 per 1/8 was justifiable at a dispensary.

But it's from Holy Smokes, and they seem to be one of the leaders in Flavor strains. Up there close to Reserva Privada with Strawberry Banana. So I expect that it will be good, and it says Bananas, Mangoes and Peaches are the flavors, not just Bananas. So having the Wildcard that is the African parentage, it will probably bring out some awesome smells, or make what is there stronger.

And I'm taking their Banana Crack Genetics, and Strain Hunters White Strawberry Skunk and BlimBurn Girl Scout Cookies (which is actually GSC X Green Crack). Then I am going to mix those with Hazes Kushes, etc.

Then I'll be giving out seeds and clones for free.

I'm taking top shelf Genetics, possibly improving on them, and definitely adding THCV to them. Then letting it spread like a fire.

It's not going to take 5-10 years to start seeing crosses of my strain. Can anyone on this website name me a strain that has Erdbeer, Banana OG and Malawi Genetics? Because if you can name me one I'll just buy those and start there. I'm pretty sure they don't exist though, I'm the first one making them.

If you're using the Blimburn version of GSC then you're not really using top shelf genetics... same with Strain Hunters.

Also, no one is hating on LEDs, just the blurple chinese panels. You'd definitely get a more complex terpene profile with a white light source, all blurple grown buds tend to have a similar smell, I've noticed.

Have you read about a clone only strain named "Doug's Varin"? It's bred to have a higher THCV content.

This part is going to be about clones. Below are 3 clones that I got from the Dispensary about 3 weeks ago, notice the yellow leaves, and some of what looks like it has died? That is because these plants started with no roots, they were just cuttings from a Mother plant. This way I know they will be female (meaning they will make Buds and can be Pollenated), but it took about a month for the clones to grow roots.

(Kong X Biodiesel F1)

Gorilla Glue

(Sour Dubb X Chem Sister) X Chocolate Diesel

Girl Scout Cookies

(I assume it is BlimBurn)

(Durban F1 X OG Kush) X Green Crack

Also, here is my plan for pollination:

I will do the same thing I did when I made that strain from Bagseed. Some people may remember it, it was the same year as the final 4/20 rally before the ban started. But anyways, what I did was let a Male plant live and then when it got to a good size I put a plastic bag over it, to act something like a plant condom. Then once it exploded into the bag with all the pollen, I put some on a female plant and got a few seeds.

That is the same thing I will do here. I will put either 1 or 2 African Male plant(s) in a room (the flowering room) that will probably have 1 African Female, 1 Banana Crack Female and 1 White Strawberry Skunk Female. Then my roommate may have a Diesel and he will probably flower some of the ones I am vegging now, maybe a Blue Mystic or White Rhino or something, and I will get some seeds from those the same way I got them from the other one. But this time instead of using Bagseeds I selected the genes for very specific reasons.

I also plan on crossing with an Autoflower and CBD strain, just so that there is a THCV autoflower and THCV/CBD strain.
I would limit each cross to one male. Even if both are from the same strain, each plant is an individual. Choose the best one, and go with it. No need to make "who's your Daddy?" seeds if you don't have to.

Brother, if I were you, I would stay away from those dispensary clones. No way of telling the health or pheno of the mother. You would be better off popping 40-50 seeds of each, then searching for the best phenos. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right.

Here are some things to look up:
Norman Borlaug
Craig Venter
Digital Biological Converter
Biological Teleportation
Gene Gun
Electroportation
Microinjection
Agrobacterium
Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer
S.M.A.R.T. Breeding

An example of how simple it can be is that Yeast DNA can be altered simply by exposing the Yeast to UV Light.

And this is a theory:

Sativa and Indicas have different effects, Indicas are more Sedating while Sativas are more uplifting or stimulating. But both of their main active ingredient is THC (some contain CBD and THCV, but those aren't in all or really even many of them). Lemonene has proven to be a mood enhancer on its own, Myrcene is a Analgesic on its own and helps THC cross the blood brain barrier so could make it stronger. Sativas are more fruity, Indicas are more spicy or woody (for the most part).

Then there is a second factor that could be creating these effects, the activation and deactivation of different CYP enzymes. Enzymes activation and deactivation could completely change the way THC is metabolized.
