I usually cook my steak in a frying pan, especially in winter with the grill out of commission. When the steaks come out of the pan to rest, the onions and mushies go in to soak up all them tasty juices- that's half the reason for doing it in the first place!
I am a big fan of the pan for my steaks as well, it gets a wee bit cold at times to stand outside in winter

@StonedFarmer - Found this colony of feral cats living over near an industrial/factory area. I know it's difficult to tell, but these bushes are filled with them, dozens of sets of leering eyes:

I quietly approached this guy in an attempt to offer some scraps....

....But he flew down this drain pipe and vanished:

That sounds amazing.
It really is; and the hardest part is just finding the perfect steak. I like a top sirloin with minimal connective tissue; slightly freeze it (not solid) so you can slice it uniformly. Leave in frig til ready; earlier you put a dinner plate in freezer. When ready to eat spread the slices on the frozen dinner plate and serve to the table; chopsticks and dip into the sauce

that sounds delicious! That blood orange sour I had last night was so damn tasty.

Even better than my hipster blueberry sour with crackers goat cheese and blueberry jam.

I was so fancy and hip last night!
Some of us can;t afford fancy jelly and exquisite craft beer

Cracking this one and prepping some fish for dinner

I sauté baby bella mushrooms with my onions, add a dash of soy sauce, fresh cracked pepper, minced garlic, sometimes even a bit of finely chopped ginger!

It's how steak is DONE, lol
I'd eat that
Try some steak sashimi ; thinly sliced with a soy, ginger, wasabi dip. Absolute heaven
.....and that.....
How about some sherry mushrooms on steak? Mmmmm
Fuck you I had a GIGANTIC bowl of menudo with a fish taco on the side
