I talked to him & he's working on some of the things you mentioned. I'll journal my grow with it. I have faith. It's driven at a very low current for longevity & growing close to the plant. Hense no bulbs or cobs I think. Don't think they're Epistars. Heat sink passively cooled. I know it looks skeptical as I set to find out. In my experiences with full illumination, yields are far greater then just light from above. We'll see though.

So do the Roleardo/Galaxyhydro COBs actually pump out the wattage they advertize? For instance, is this one 400 actual watts @ 132x3w chips? Does anyone own this product or something similar in quality? Does it work as well as the DIY COBs?

Those roleadros are shit, I bought mine from eBay as "PopularGrow", both COBs were damaged in less than a month. It also puts out a lot more heat than light. I changed my 200w+/-5% Roleadro to two 80w Hans panels and my temperatures dropped a lot, but I gained a lot of light.

The heatsinks weren't large enough for the wattage they were running the COBs with, also the fans were really loud. 4 drivers for two cobs, I've been told I could use the drivers to make 40w CREE lights.

He says they're run at low current for longevity & close growing. Don't think they are Epi's. Cooled by heat-sink. He's working on some of the options as well. If he listens to growers & weeds out the good & bad advice, I think they'll do real well. Commercial grows Is where his buss. Is nowadays but these set-ups will maximize a smaller grow to a larger IMO.
Still looking for light over-head though. That BIOS lighting Icurus keeps catching my eye but $2g's. Damn. The Heaven Brite light is a tempting one too. Not bad cost either.
Screw in COBs. These are cool. :

there isn't much point to wicked grow lights because e27 led light bulbs are now available and very competitive thanks to the much larger residential lighting market. Just pick up a vanity light (or make your own strip) and shop online for good deals on led light bulbs.

Not sure, but I think, this small heatsinks are not enough for passive cooling! Maybe max. 3W for each Lamp, but I think they run harder.
They're all just bulbs with the built in heat-sink. Some people are familiar with these as they simply screw in to a socket. Yeah, I don't think the bulbs last much more than a year. I think it's a great fully customizable idea though & they offer bulbs @ a real fair price plus come with a wide variety. Id like a wicked-stick for side-lighting or intr-canopy. But they have some big-boys too. If I want a high powered light as one of my main grow lights I don't think it would be a Wicked although I give em props.
PurpleBuz, a vanity strip it is & I'll select my bulbs n make my own. I can handle that seeing how the technical stuff doesn't need to be done.

If Italy becomes the first European country to legalize canna you will be in a very good "spot" zang!

Italian politics is bad and absurd, are two years that is being discussed medical use and yet there is no real regulation,
and people with rights in reality can not use it.
Maybe it happens dear PSUAGRO, could create jobs, and also cover much of the public debt of our country.
But for now, 60 years of political war against a medicinal plant.
You know...a simple plant.
Out of mind.

Lumigrow Lumigrow.com -- Lumigrow does not sell directly to consumers. I bought mine from MonsterGardens ~$1,400 us

I'm in the eighth week of my first grow using a Lumigrow 650.
I'll never go back to hps or anything else.
The difference between my Lumigrow 650 and my previous 650w hps is about the same
as the difference between a 650w hps and cool white fluorescents in shop light fixtures..

Thank you Abiqua!
for you as obvious, as for all professional RIU users , always special offers...;)

those #'s come from the company, guy named Victor. He's honest & very transparent. All his claims about PPFD have been confirmed by owners on threads & videos. This particular light isn't out yet but they're taking pre-orders. From what I've heard in the past, the measurements he submits guys is with the lenses off but I'll check on that & get back to you. The lenses on these lights are removable for added light spread. Many guys use them w/o the lens. I'm sure buying x2, 450's would cover an area better with even PPFD across. in large rooms with high ceilings, this light should be similar to the sun in a room.

COBS do not equal sun

Your lucky I don't have a par meter because I'm pretty darn sure you can't match the suns peak umol with a COB and grow as healthy a plant.

Thats the next theory that will need to be tested from an independent unbiased source

No, I hear ya. Didn't mean to make a sun comparison, just that it's a super full spectrum white light with 2000umol like the sun has an average reading of. Those #'s off a light I don't think would be as good for the plant as raising the light to get 1200umols & less. Just saying, theme the #"'s @ said heights. Not sure if it's averaged but AMARE isn't know for submitting only a center point refferance. Surprised you guys aren't more knowledgable on this comp. seems right up your allies. All the lights you guys showed my are great to & I've been trying to find out more on some of them. MARS tried to smash on them by opening a case on you-tube if you guys wanna see the insides. Main problem was the power cord wasn't UL certified I think. Then MARS said it was a dirty light. Check it out. Love to see what you guys think. It's s small mono light in the video though.

Big numbers..guess you could run it high up

Yeah..one thing about the guys diying..at least myself, I don't check companies sites other than when I see a interesting design. The lights I run are similar to amare in that I use t5 uvb tubes and monos with cobs. I was already running that combination a good while before amare came out. Took a look at the light once and that was about it...I prefer to run my own led selection.
