A little disappointed to see burple yeild close to white COB. Any difference in smoke report :bigjoint:
Would like to see how the yield comes with them together.

Did you power 3 cxa 3070 with that hlg 185 1400
I wonder if the power supply could have handled a 4th 3070

Just curious if you considered the lens as an option instead of that ledil reflector. They cost about the same and @REALSTYLES panel seems to be blasting some serious radiation with KB 100mm lenses. I will test a lens soon.
Ledil reflector is great too. You can get some idea about gain from first 2 plots in attached image

The buds from the 3k cobs actually had better color from the purple strains, and better density in the colas. its all mixed up now, so i have no way of doing a smoke report difference unfortunately.

Thanks for the chart, the difference with the angelina is pretty substantial using my $30 lux meter. I am considering lenses for the next build. You guys can probably tell by the pictures that the other side of the room is still HPS. So i have some work and investment ahead of me still. thinking 32 cxb3590 @700mA just like supra and realstyles.

ground wire comes from AC power in and is attached directly to the gnd wire of the driver. since its all aluminum and the driver is aluminum, attached with metal screws, its all grounded.

I tested HLG 120 and outer case was anodized aluminum and it does not conduct. May be screw conducts. Not safe to assume heatsink and cover grounded because of direct contact with heatsink. If you have multimeter good to check if fan cover/heatsink grounded though heatsink.

Thanks @robincnn safety is an important concern for me, esp running these fixtures at 220v AC in. I will pull one down and put an multimeter on it and probably have to sand the contact point between the driver, heatsink, and shroud. Guess heres another benefit of modular. I can pull a single unit down and work on it for a day or so with out losing half my light like if it was a 9 cob fixture.

@SupraSPL I think you are correct about the higher end production fixtures putting some well tuned optics in their products. The BML appears to be a simple plastic cover for UL listing cert, but it must be doing much more than simply keeping water out. It also seems like you have been putting significant effort into optics, reflectors, and trying to ALL of the photons to the plants. Please hurry up and figure it out so the rest of us can copy your homework. I think running all LEDIL Angelina's will be a good start for me, just like GG. The standard 120 deg bare cob seems to just throw light everywhere. My previous tent grows with bare COBs were exceptional due to all that reflectivity. I hope to capture that tent magic with this grow by adding some large reflective panels to the walkway side.

I thought the BMLs were epoxy embedded for IP67 ? On my illumitex its lens plus embedded in epoxy

The bourns pot are very well made and nice to use, but there are some benefits to the single turn also. For the type of adjusting we are doing the single turn is reasonably precise and you can mark down the corresponding current on the board. It also allows quick adjustments

Someone can come up with something nicer than my scribble but you get the idea.

I agree, When I think of the bourns potentiometers and precision adjustment I think of the ones with the dial counter on them for keeping track of where you are at in your adjustments.
Something like the one in THIS link. They can be had cheaper then this. This was just the first one I found to link to lol

pd1... for my inexpert pov... if we go on lens way... lens and leds needs good auxiliary ventilation too.. on closed lamps or closed tents... ...Psuagro have some bad experience with lenses or maybe seems to me... hot climates or hot temps.. dont help us too...

on reflector way seems to me my idea are more economic way...only need reflects on the perimeter of the lamp not cob by cob...

...and use not only metal... we can use wood or carton too...for the Diy reflector...

@salmonetin I like your ideas. My Lowe's has the rigid foam, one side reflective for $10, so that was what I was planning on using.

I love building things, and am open to experimentation for the next build (replacing the HPS side). But for now, I am somewhat committed to the LEDIL reflectors for this build. I need 10 more, @ $8.81ea, so ill just buy them and bitch about the price.

On the next one I am considering lens, but wondering if there is more value in a silicone lens vs the glass ones from china. Or these metal reflectors:

The reflectors are superexpensive, translucent and maybe not worth the investment. Have you thought of painted aluminium bowls?
