ya...i dont really sweat the heavy metals. i m already old and i eat the finest quality stuff all the time, its my gig. Maybe 1-10% of those things are hydroponically grown.

I agree that salts are a very precise cultural technique. i dont have any illusions about the high quality and consistency achieved by this method. Still In my view its undeniable that nature based methods yield better outcomes under most circumstances.

The finest and most desirable examples of nearly everything never seem to come from a lab. There is unknown complexity inherent in natural conditions that cant be duplicated.

To say that hydro grown tomato is competitive with a soil grown, high brix cousin strikes me as a very personal preference. Maybe check with a culinary professional to verify your appraisal.
hydro grown tomatoes can be as complex as field grown tomatoes. The difference is not whether its grown hydroponically or field grown It depends on the grower and how the tomatoes are grown,.

hydro makes it possible for someone to grow fast with emphasis on yield for the mercenaries. However a truly skillful grower can grow some remarkable tomatoes better in taste than any field grown. Exact same thing with Cannabis. it really depends on the grower.

my biggest fear of crazy organics is heavy metals and other undocumented contaminants. Much of the cannabis voodoo organics hasn't been tested/analyzed.

hydro grown tomatoes can be as complex as field grown tomatoes THEY CANT. THERE IS NOT A SINGLE EXAMPLE OF THIS STRAIGHT UP BULL SHIT.. it really depends on the grower.

absolutely nothing insane here wtf is matter with you ?
How many supposed organic ferts on the market today do not disclose all of the ingredients in it ?
How many on the market are actually ceritified to be organic ?
Have you ever seen the msds and full detailed analysis to see the actual amounts of heavy metals and other contanimants in it?

I have reviewed various states "required" analysis and believe me they are NOT all Kosher.

so FU

and my apologies to the OP, did not mean to go off on an irrelevant tangent.

got the muffler/ secondary carbon filter built, used the air compressor to slowly blow air over the carbon and blow the dust off, kinda funny,, I had the air pressure to high from the compressor and blew a few pieces of carbon across the garage, any how, its built and in place, it changed the sound tone , and I can feel the air coming across the carbon, so 2 filters works, we shall see when the really smelly time gets here, plus I can quickly change the carbon in the secondary filter , but the sound change wasnt as big as I had hoped, but I can really test it till dark tonight, when I can open the door and turn the fan speed up a little

Poor Tim is documenting his grow hunkered down in a bunker while a full on organochem war rages overhead. The ladies are looking good Tim - keep the blast doors fully secured and hopefully they'll call a truce soon... :bigjoint:
someone once told me it was a complament when the "big guns" have a disscusion on your grow thread, I am fine with it, since I am growing in soil again on this grow, its kinda interesting to read about the differant takes on it,
I did water last night and put 1/4 strength nutes in my gallon of water it brought the ppm to 550 , and I had to add baking soda to get the ph back to 6.5 as the general hydroponics nutes I am using brought the tap water ph down,,
I would like to learn about these so called "teas" if I stay in soil, but alas, I do want easy
I am a fan of easy,, lol
the girls looked great this morning, I am going to try and stick with weekly pictures so week 3 flower picture will on monday

19 days into flower, they seem to be fine with the mild add of nutes on the last watering, the whole thing is just sort of on auto pilot, I really need to find time to do some lower trimming of leaves under the scrog, but its not hurting anything, you can see in the picture I placed to sticky traps on the soil as a preventative measure , I see no sign of bugs yet, and human rob told me they seem to come out of the soil and get on the trap first, so its insurance at this time, and I inspect them each time i open the door, once a day lately, IMG_8297.JPGIMG_8298.JPG IMG_8299.JPG
