I would not advice growing with either get a hps, lush lighting was what I used at a friends looked pretty but that was it,I do veg under two t5 lights a 4 tube 2 tube one they do the job perfect infact can't remember the last time I vegged fully under a hps,I do veg for 14 days under a 600 sometimes, just depends what room I use,if I flower at 2 1/2 ft then I veg for that extra time under 600.but I can not remember the last time I did a. Grow from start to finish under a 600,but all flowering has to be done under hps lights that's not to say future I think it might turn out to be the way forward led but a lot more research needs doing on em,I have never known a led produce a lb a plant.but if it works for you and you are getting over 10 per plant from a led then ya doing really well, stay green hope ya grows go well
Obviously lush lighting got over on you, that is what happens when you buy into the hype. I am sorry but your views are all opinions with no factual evidence to back it up. I have grown with LED for a few years now and my buds have more trichomes and terps than they did with HPS. I would rather flower with my panels then go back to that dinosaur shit.

My bill is also 1/6th what it was when I was running HPS. Go figure.

First of all, not everyone is trying to grow pounds at a time. Personally, I'm looking for quality over quantity as I (like many people on here) grow only for my own personal medicine. Also, there have been side by side test grows (I can dig up links if you want) between hps and led, and the yield differed by around %10 on average. This notion that LED is not capable of producing weight is largely untrue. Honestly, the main drawback with them right now? They are stupid expensive. If you can't afford them obviously hps and mh are tried and true options. For me though, they are inefficient, they turn way too many watts into heat instead of light and I frankly don't have time trying to figure out how to cool my tent down with one of those easy bake ovens in there.
Also, based on tons of reading and comparisons, the LED's will produce a little less, but they are also using much less power. So a 1k HPS may yield a certain amount and the LED may produce...say 18% less, the money saved in power and all the extra equipment needed to keep HID light heat under control is well worth the trade-off for those who are only growing for themselves. Plus, fighting heat can be tons of work. I've always grown under HID's but now I'm moving to LED's because it's such an easier setup IMHO.

They may be expensive up front, but they ROI (return on investment) comes with both saving costs on your electricity and the expense of replacing HID lights over time. I keep seeing a 50,000 hour life with LEDs. I don't know how accurate that is, but they definitely last much longer.

Not been using them that long around 3/4 year.
