I'll probably let him simmer for awhile and then take THAT argument apart too. Maybe if I wait a day or two, he'll argue his way into another position he can't back up with any coherence.
My reply moving forward will be simple. Name the one place you can live the dream you so desire.
I personally think you don't live in reality.

Patience grass hopper, I'm keeping you in suspense for awhile. These things must be savored.

Come up with a third point of view on whether your government is force yet? You've already expressed two opposing points of view, can you score a hat trick on your floppery? Here is your chance to shine.
I'm not the one bitching and complaining about being forced to do things against my will. That's your bag of sad. Now again.Name the one place you can live the dream you so desire.

His concept may not be able to be a reality based on humans being human but it could be a lot closer than what it is now.

Name a better system.

I keep telling @Rob Roy the main problem with his dream of utopia is human emotions. Something you just can't get rid of. Thinking that you can is not realistic. I try to focus on the realistic things in life.

There has to be coercion in government due to human nature.

But he is right about lots of things the government could get out of and I agree with him on most of it.

Abortion - When did government suddenly have the right to tell people what to do with their bodies? Government should not be making laws about what medical procedures can or cannot be performed. It should be between a woman and her doctor. I think state boards should be adequate to decide what procedures they support or do not support based on science and health, not religion or poltics.

Gay marriage - When did the government get the power to decide who could marry each other? Fuck, give that back... The government should get completely out of the marriage license business just as it should get out of the business of providing tax credits for whether you are married or not.

Civil rights.... Hell yes, lets remove the category race from all government documents and treat everyone like an American. Maybe if the government didnt continue to classify and statistify people race wouldnt be such a big issue (who am I kidding, they use it on purpose).

Taxes - Everyone pay the same %... No more bullshit of priviledge or punishment. We all know the tax code is rotted. However, if you are going to get the benefits from society you have to contribute to society so we eliminate all tax credits and tax loopholes. The economy would boom....

I could go on and on... The best days of America were prior to all this bullshit legislation piled on everything. And it isnt for us, it is for the politicians to manipulate and hide their illegal shit in .

London, what is your Utopia that you are striving for with your beliefs?

I consider myself Libertarian, but I also believe that the world could function perfectly fine without being my Utopia.

Idealism vs Pragmatism. I can accept that
the world can never be what I believe it should be. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't strive towards what we believe is the ideal world.

It is kind of like growing. You are not going to be perfect. You keep getting better and keep trying to get better unless you really just don't give a fuck.

Once again - what are you striving for?
