CO2 replenishment

How many room air replacements a day would one need to do to keep CO2 levels acceptable????
Depends on plant mass, IMHO. More plants, more exchanges or co2 to prevent depletion. So the number of exchanges will be different according to whats in the house.

Plants also need O2 also. Had to state the obvious.

The majority of air exchanges should be done when the lights are on to keep co2 high and to push excess heat out.
I would do a few airing out sessions when the lights are off for RH control and for fresh air.

Thanks. Good stuff. I gave plant area stats in initial post for exactly the reason you opined.

Lots of leaves, lots of exchanges.. little leaves little exchanges. Its all about surface area.

I would force extra ventilation in the middle of the dark cycle tho. Let the plants relax, let the RH rise, etc.. then vent. So the air is ready for lights on.

Yes im pretty sure thats what all the old grow bibles used to say was a complete exchange evey 3 to 5 min I could be wrong but better more airflow then not enough in my opinion
unless you have to tweek it to keep climate consistant

The current regimen is 15 minutes blowing, 15 minutes not. Temps are going to dive so I am looking to reduce the blow time. I am with you on the "more airflow" generally. Thx

Nope. Currently deflecting cold air through heater as it enters. Handled the 20s easily. Needs to handle -20. Adding a speed controller on the exhaust.

Is the space well insulated as in do the lights get it hot in there or just warm?
I have an idea but I want to think about it more before I post it

Kinda like your doing all ready with the heater deflection.

I figure if it were me I would either a.
build a "lung"room have you cold air enter there and heat it before you draw it in to your room. And you did a nice job on your room so im sure it would be a snap for ya.
Also one other idea I had but dont like as much
I think this could be an option for you and if it were me I woyld build a 2 to 3 foot wide wall the same height and width of the wall that your intake is on and make a conection then plumb your heater in there down low next to where the air enters the lung.
then pull the warmed air from the top where its warmest
you could also make this lung room hold your venting ducts ect to free up more grow space.

im sure ill hear how this is a bad idea but it just my opinion

I get it. Problem is the room butts up to shelving that would be also have to be altered considerably. Doable but quite the hassle. The concept could be applied though fairly easily to just the area between the bottom shelf and the floor where my intake filter box sits. There i could easily construct/enclose a horizontal, 2.5x8', area that could serve as an intake lung. I am probably going to wing it this first winter and see how thingsfair and then address things if need be. I appreciate your input. Thanks.
