It is common Maybe not over that side of the pond, but you'll simply have to trust me when i state that it is. I know it's not correct, but it's just how it is. Rarely do i hear people talking about the USA, it is almost always simply "america", or sometimes "the states".

Idiots are also common lol, especially in the us it seems. My Belgian, Irish, and UK friends say they're coming to the states or the us. Maybe a demographic thing my point is just if you're going to go people hating, at least be correct in who you're bashing. I mean...whats an idiot pointing out an idiot haha? Seems like two idiots to me the worlds full of them atm. Probably because anyone with sense these days isnt having kids, but theres still tons of retards adding shit genes to the pool haha.

I've lived in Canada for half my life, and the USA for half my life, and I married an American gal and have 3 American children..... and I still maintain that there is an over-abundance of ignorant assholes here. I know we have members from around the world, but I strongly feel the majority of users are from North America. I dunno...Unless you're taking into account SEVERAL forums, including some predominantly populated by Europeans, then isn't it natural that the majority of complaint threads would be started by the largest demographic of the site?

Canada has plenty of people that think their country is pretty special too. I've read a ton of comments on the internet (mostly youtube) from Canadians spouting off on how superior Canada is to the US. Mostly people just bragging how superior their government and social services are, and some posts like yours claiming Canadians are just better people. They don't come out and say "Canada is the greatest country on earth" but they certainly aren't afraid to say America is inferior. Care to expand on why you think Americans are self centered twats with a huge sense of entitlement? It might be unfair of me to say that America has more assholes than other countries. Perhaps they're just more vocal. I've met plenty of great people in the states, some right here from RIU. So I don't feel that way about all Americans by any stretch. If you don't consider yourself a self centered twat then I'm not referring to you.

However, I've done my share of traveling and living abroad. Americans are universally looked at as arrogant assholes. You don't see it because you've become accustomed to it. Something simple like holding the door open for someone. 75% of the time here the person will just cruise through the door without even acknowledging the gesture. In Canada, 9 times out of 10 the person will say thank you. It doesn't ruin my day, but it's something I notice.

And yes, Canadians are a proud lot. I think they've been the red headed step-child to America for a long time. Despite that Canadians are proud of their social system, not being involved in perpetual war, and the fact that they are still kicking USA's ass in the only sport they're any good at.
