Well, when people that come here from from abroad and say this kind of stuff, how can we not think we're awesome?
Pretty much anything America does will end up being the best. Hell, if anyone gave a lick about soccer here America would kick your British ass all up and down the pitch too.
For the record, I'm a Canadian and I despise a lot of what America is, does, and stands for. Those are just the cold hard facts as I see them.
You're talking humans in general. From Africa to Russia, to the US and everywhere else, people look out for #1, themselves. They're all behaving like humans. There are completely selfless people around the globe too with tons of compassion and consideration, not just this country or that country.
On topic: Attitude isn't all that great anymore. They've dropped a few notches over the years with other banks popping up with better service and prices.
I could say the same thing about you, considering I didn't quote your post + wasn't directed towards you. Just in general for all the haters (obviously your one)
I will refer you to my previous comment, there are arrogant/sensitive assholes all over this planet. USA has a bad rap because all YOUR countrymen come here.

Your ancestors came to this land, stole it from the native Americans, then proceeded to slaughter them. We in turn celebrate this great time in American history every year by stuffing our fat faces full of turkey.
Your ancestors then decided it would be a great idea to head over to Africa and take hostage hundreds of thousands of black folks and bring them over here to be slaves.
That has been followed by 100 years of war where America has been front and center, killing millions of innocent men women and children, setting up military bases all over the planet, stealing other countries natural resources, and leaving death and destruction in it's wake.
Today, America incacerates more people than any other country, and we represent 5% of the worlds population yet we consume 25% of the worlds resources. Given all of that, there is a good portion of the country that still celebrates this shady history, refers to their country as the "land of the free", and the "greatest country on the planet" completely oblivious and ignorant as to why the rest of the world shakes their head at them.
So yes, those folks are arrogant, ignorant assholes. Given your simpleton outlook, apparently you're one of them

Hate is a strong word. I dislike the politicians in this country, and a lot of what America stands for. I also dislike the morons that support it. But as I stated before, there are a lot of nice folks that I have met here and call friends.
I am here because I was drafted by an American hockey team. I married an American, and we have a family. Uprooting them at this point would be difficult, be we are planning on moving to Canada at some point.

Americans just took advantage of a lucrative slave market. They didn't go running around Africa taking Africans "hostage" like you seem to think. That was their fellow Africans. Guess who purchased the most slaves from these markets, Europeans. They didnt go inland, they stayed on the coast and had the natives bring them slaves.Ohh, they wanted to come here and be slaves?

I know why you're here. I asked why you stay.
I once relocated to Hee Haw, TN for a job, and married there. 18 months later, the wife was the only thing I could stand about the place and the people. Her family and kids were all there, and she preferred not to leave. But she did. It was difficult, but she stayed w/ her husband when he re-relocated.
Difficult is not impossible. You're making excuses, probably because you're happy to enjoy the benefits of the country that you trash.

Your benefits? Please! If you didn't have them, you wouldn't be here. You and your family benefit enormously by living here. Don't think so? Then what are the 'difficulties' in leaving?

We stole America from the Native Americans and the people who ended up being "Mexicans" then we tried to commit genocide against the natives. It is documented that our ancestors rounded them up like cattle killing whole tribes including women and children.
Not disagreeing with you just want to add that in there because it is important as to why the world hates us. ( then we bought africans from africans and created a terrible slave trade which helped us build the country )
