Just in case you're thinking that's a requirement, it's not, any seeds are game. There just happens to be a lot of us going in with home-brewed seeds...I'm still at LEAST a yr out on any home genetics.... I just haven't got the space to segregate a male, I can hardly move around to water my babiesCan't wait for the next move, lol

put a pc tower together with a single cfl at the top and give it to a buddy to watch for a couple months... use small clones, and cut 1/3 off the top of a solo cup so you can fit more in there, 5 females and 1 male is a perfect fit. how many seeds do you really need? if you are truly trying to make a "cross" you have to save pollen or the mother to back cross after you F2 or F3 the first seeds that were produced....How many of you are running actual back crossed strains, thus creating your own? how many just had a male or hermie pop some nanners over some females and have the resulting F1?I'm still at LEAST a yr out on any home genetics.... Right now I'm on F1s, moving into F2 then I'll back cross with the F1's father, a massive polyploid that was producing 4-5 branches around each main stalk node set. From there its more selective pheno hunting, and I'll decide where to go after that year or so.
we're up to 6 or 7 in the home cross "category".... SOME are not only relying on their homebrews, each is popping a boutique bean "just in case"..... I'm going to only pop the homebrew "cross" that I have, the lineage is TOP shelf, in production, beauty, and smoke! I am not afraid of any boutique blend, or dawg-shit dwc, or home made Christmas lights with tea that you make from sea cucumber piss and worm skin!

I've been building a modular bucket based ebb & flow system, and am thinking about possibilities (mad scientist hat still on)...any medium/method is acceptable as long as the root mass is fully contained inside the solo cup, no?
I may dedicate one or two cups to an alternative medium, if I can get my shit together in time.

I think a light dep 12/12 is fair.. But sure too much room for cheating.
But so is indoor. Genetics and quality pictures is what wins this cup, seems like growers are scared lol

Funny, I was going to mention the greenhouse thing in my original reply about outdoor. imo we're in an indoor thread, outdoor/greenhouse, maybe even a garage with the door open to let the sun in, would all still qualify as outdoor. Then the logistics and consistency of light-dep, sounds a bit complicated and difficult to track, therefore the unfair advantage comment. Not coming from the prize angle as I have no dreams about placing for a prize, it just seems unfair to allow outdoor/sun against indoor lighting imo.
