Many growers around the world do light dep, i have a good friend that is on top of covering his green house everyday. Which is what i will be doing. Some growers uses automated ways of covering their outdoor grows.

And agree, but still would be cool to let any grower with any source of light, as long as its 12/12 party cup. Just my two cents

While I know the practice and have used it for outdoor in the past, for a party cup? lmao
Maybe we should have a vote? Anyone else Ok with this outdoor/greenhouse/garage thing?

When they make a light that matches the sun we should allow that till then totally seems unfair to me. I will be anxiously awaiting this day..
Kinda negates the point of trying to minimize the variables imo though
And hell yeah I wouldnt want that if Im trying to place at all lol. Feel free to handicap yourself by growing with a mag lite and showing us all whats what like dawg is making it sound like he has planned for us.

Party cup growers are just gonna cheat and use autos outdoor, autoflowers+ sun 2000umol/sec+ increased cheating hrs over 12/12=== winning easily IMO.

I wouldn't allow it at all.............

Yeah, that's kind of my thinking, no matter what, right now nothing beats sunlight. I have one JTR in my indoor run, not a bad plant, average. I have a clone taken from the mother plant at the same time, but outdoor, and the f'n thing is 2.5x3x3' now and that's because I keep tying it down and fimming it to keep the height down. It's basically the size of both plants in my current run and will produce more than both together by the time it finishes. No comparison...

This is an indoor thread...specifically an LED /alt light thread, although we allow the dirty HID boys play along...

I think anything outdoor/greenhouse (using the sun) is not part of the spirit of the comp, and should not be allowed.

Glad you threw in the HID comment... I'm good then if I decide to use my CMH against Bad Karma's A51 LED array? Kind of unfair I know, not much different than the sun/outdoor thing, but it is technically indoor and artificial light - lol

Ah I see well thank you for helping me learn something today...I feel less stupid now...And no, no outdoor lighting allowed this is for an indoor grown party cup. Light deprivation at the end of flowering before chop is acceptable in my opinion, but maybe a maximum time frame of say 3 days should be placed upon it. This is an Indoor thread example:

Forums>The Grow Room>Indoor Growing>LED and other Lighting

nuff said no vote is needed indoor light sources only. Sorry boys we are trying to keep the variables between growers to a minimum and outdoor light is an unfair advantage.

Funnies aside, I'm glad you all have such grand aspirations with your fancy lights and all. I did well last round with cheap chinese LED, and I'm going to do even better this round, with the XGS on my side.

Been testing the solo cup Ebb & Flow add-on to my new bucket-based system, and its working sweet! I pity the fool that has to go against me, if I can dial this all in for the comp! :hump:

Ok, got a question. Saw where as long as roots are contained in cup your OK.
I've cut clones before and placed in cups to root, left thwm in too long and had roots coming out of drain holes.
What if that happens? Is it still good?

Have 6 weeks or so, might get them done, but not going to sweat it, I'm swaying towards letting the CMH stand on its own now that its prowess is being challenged

Bah, they're only lights, as a wise grower said at the beginning of the last comp, it's all about genetics in this game...
