Alright, lately I've also been thinking about switching my nutes, because I wanna see the difference in brands. I want it to be a GOOD thing....

So I'm asking all of the 'well known' members of riu...

What do YOU think is the best nute line??

FF or Advanced Nutrients are both good, with the addition of B1 Thrive, Magical, and Sugar Daddy. I learned an entire schedule (i.e., feed, lights, fiming) that has changed the way I grow, but I cannot share that part. I did fine with those nutes for many years now. Good luck! Peace

FFOF soil for all my veg nute needs, then technaflora recipe for success nutes in flower, plus budswel organic guano tea 1x a week plus molasses 1x a month. been running this for about 2 yrs now. I see no need to switch as im happy with everything.

they all work, just depends what you are looking for, personally i am really happy with the canna coco line, that has been my base nutrient for over 4 years and i will not be changing any time soon. i like the simplicity of having one feed for veg and flower, high nitrogen levels mean you need to adjust the feeding in late bloom but i simple taper off the a and b and increase the p and k in the feed by adding bloombastic from atami.

how do you grow, you failed to mention (hydro/ soil etc)

This has got to be the hardest question to answer, period !
There is no "one best"! (I know that's not what you asked, but many may answer in that context.)
The way you grow and how you do it is by FAR the most important factor for perfection.
Most synthetic makers give you fairly aggressive feeding schedules. The ability to cut through the hase and know how to employ them with out over use of some parts (usually bloom foods) is the key.

What do you want to achieve? Good pretty green plants all the way though? Skip the P boosters ! Will they work,,,yeah, but most over use them because the makers want to try and match other makers stupid claims and not be left out of sales.

All right, here you go.
Hesi is damn fine stuff.
Canna is damn fine stuff
Dyna-Gro is damn fine stuff. The easiest to use too.
Cyco is damn fine stuff.

Let your wallet do the talking...

AN works,,,,,but I refuse to make money for such a greedy cheese ball outfit !!!
I don't LIKE H&G....to many parts to use on a sliding scale of use.....Don't like what it does to the soil.

I like the Fox Farm Big Bloom but have some animosity for the rest of their line and the way they market it to make you think you need every one of their products to really do well. The reality is you need every one of their products for THEM to do well.

Thanks for the well thought out reply, sir! I have heard more people drop the names Canna and DynaGro, so those will probably be the two i do some research on!

As a fairly new grower (about 8 grows I think), I like the simplicity of Dyna system. I use Grow, Bloom, Mag Plus, and Pro-Tekt. So three additives at any time. They are more concentrated than FF and if you just get a small (1ML) and large (3ML) syringe from a pharmacy, very easy to measure. They are consistent with how they impact PH which I like. And very easy to watch my plant and decide how much to dose, though once I ease into their full schedule I tend to follow it pretty closely. Some of the companies have so many products it is crazy!

I also use Drip Clean from Home and Garden in all waterings, whether with or without nutes. I never do big flushes where I drown my girls and I don't seem to have any lockout issues so all good.

look up maxibloom k.i.s.s method thats what I use for synthetics
you should learn to grow organically tho very tasty and very good option outdoors , indoirs the more "organic" option just may be synthetics IMO

maybe ask this in the hydro section for better results too, I was going to answer but mine is irrelevant as i'm organic and in soil.

I'm a CANNA man. I've used CANNA from the get go so around 5 years.

It could be more concentrated that's for sure.

I use the following
CANNA COCO A/B £13
CANNAZYM £18
RHIZOTONIC £27
PK1314 £13
Mono Ca £10
Mono Mg £10
All the above are canna.

I use a 1litre bottles of A/B, ZYM and RHIZOTONIC per grow.

The others are used in small amounts during the grow.

I would estimate about £60 per grow on nutes. About $80.

Generally around the 400g dry mark from my 400w. Sometimes more sometimes a little less.

Could it be done cheaper, most DEFINATELY.

Do I want to learn a new nutrient line to try to max its potential, not really as I'm happy with my harvests.
