Clown court? oh, you mean the rightist body who never saw a big business it didn't like or a case where it didn't find for the big guy, be it corporation or federal mandate, over the little guy. Kinda like this decision.

So you're only in favor of the "little guy" if he's of a certain ethnicity then, which isn't racist at all, of course.

Where does it say that? I am in favor of the sick, the poor, the disadvantaged, doesn't matter what race or gender. A short review of the rightist portion of the court will show you that they are not in favor of such things as the ADA, Unions, or one man one vote, hell, they aren't even in favor of voting.if those who are doing it are not in the upper classes.

The funny ( not really ) part about affirmative action is that it, in itself, is racist.
Not necessarily. If there are minorities who are discriminated against and a law is enacted to try to prevent that discrimination on institutional levels, that is not racist. If it were found that banks were refusing to lend to those who were left handed and a law was passed to alleviate that, it would not be racist.

Must disagree, even MLK said he hoped his children would not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. Affirmative Action is used to justify racism by taking actions not based on qualifications but by other quotas. Racism through and through.

When there is institutional bias toward one class of person over another for extended periods of time, these sorts of laws become necessary in order to adjust the balance. Affirmative action is much like the other argument going on about vaccines. Now that Polio seems no longer to be a threat, many have come to believe that it never was one. Now that affirmative action seems to have worked, we tend to believe that it was never needed. I do not know when it will not be needed any longer. Isn't desegregation racist as well?

Yup.

It's bullshit, and absolutely NO different then ANY of the racist policies employed by governments in the past.

Either racism is wrong for everyone, or it's right for everyone. There is no middle ground.

What would you have done then, to aleviate the problem of blacks not being represented in all parts of society?

how is aiming towards a goal for general equality the same as barring blacks from voting if they cannot recite the constitution word for word in greek?

it's so easy to identify racists on this issue.

There should not be a box to check about race on college entrance forms at all. You take the SAT, you do good and you get into a good school. It should be a totally blind process.
And what would you have done Winter Woman? to fix the problem of unequal representation of one class of people in society?

University level education should be based on SAT's and misc. testing only to be admitted. Race and ethnicity should not be a factor in that level of education. It has nothing to do with one class over another.

If someone needs to take a few remedial classes then I suggest that they attended a junior college for a couple of semesters first. It is much better then entering a university and not being able to preform at that level. I witnessed it and it was not pretty.

Prepare and then apply.

so your solution to the problem of unequal representation would be to perpetuate it?

not surprising.

Sending someone to a university to drop out is not fair to them. If they need remedial classes to be ready then they should do it and then enroll. It is much better than failure. Your inability to understand how that crushes a person is exactly what I would expect from you.

so your assertion is that blacks and minorities are "remedial" and would fail if put at the same level as a white person?

...the NBA called. You just got drafted and they lowered the rim to 7' just for you. You skywalker you.
i know how you call the goal of more equal representation within universities and elsewhere "special rights", so you don't really need to chime in and dig that hole any deeper.

The goal is freedom for everybody to own themselves and their justly acquired property, but not to own others. When others dictate to people how and with whom they will interact, that goal becomes breached. Logic called, your bill is overdue.

You're really trying to claim SCOTUS is right-wing?
