Why do people worship God?

If God made humankind, is it a 'leg missing' from him? Or a big hole where his stomach was? What about the animals, the mountain, the breath and fire?
God disassembled himself unto us and everything. HOW CAN you think of God as somebody else, other than you?
I worship myself, Because I am the true creator.
So would be you, if you were to realize this, but now I will turn into a lizard, WHICH IS BASICALLY I AM already.

What effect do you guys think worshipping somebody who is not real as they teach it has?

BTW. Can you tell me who made everyone think that God is up in the skies and watches us all? Because every bad is contributed to that.

If you worship a god that doesn't resemble you: worship that god as perfect as you can imagine. That's you.
I guess not everybody these days can imagine himself/herself as a white robed old beardy man.

What if we are all taught to hate Satan and love God who isn't us, because Satan is our true God, our own self, and Yehova is an alien overlord to gain domination by blinding and manipulating humankind to deny themselves, LOSING ALL OUR POWER!

I've never seen "They live" (movie), but I know what it's about.
I've also read about such on spiritual websites, but it's much more frightening when you realize it by yourself.

I guess everyone wants to believe there is a pure/better place than the shit filled society we live in. Wouldn't it be a shame if this were it.

There isn't. There is what we make of it. If you wait for Heaven and God to save you, you are damned.
No god helps you other than yourself, and if you believe you are less than God, you will ever be.

I do thank God for god, just imagine history without our 'christen' god.... sodomites would have the vote, fertile woman too, and baby deaths galore, as human we may kill each other and NOT sacrifice ourselves in the name of society or "GOD" or law, we may kill millions of other humans, it OK our leaders say.. they don't like our god, nor speak our language or know of our ways, so we send them to "GOD" and let him sort them out ....?

..it don't look good for the future of our god...better find another before its too late

I am thinking about starting threads where Christians punch holes in all your theorys and hold nonbelievers in derision, maybe call you names and make fun of you,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,oh yeah, true Christians dont do that.

The op does have a point, since Adam and Eve people have believed they dont need God, that they could br 'Just like him, knowing good and bad. Almost 4000 years later and Man still cant hit his butt with both hands,,but but but we have television and the internet and we can preform surgery and yet we are still miserable.

China has only been communist for about 50 years, electricity has been used in homes since about 70 years ago and yet man still cant even prevent war, disease, hatred, racism , he continually destroys his home here on earth , The miracle of birth continues to happen, the earth is suspended at the PERFECT angle and rotation to keep it habitable , the moon stays there and acts as a catalyst for tides etc all by themselves.

The Bible doesnt say that there isnt life on other planets , what it does say is this is the ONLY place where the issue of Universal sovereignty will be questioned. In other wprds . Does God the creator have the RIGHT to tell us how to live.
Just something to think about while some poke fun about things they know nothing about.

Please stop confusing religion with the Bible, they are in most cases totally different things.

....and as you write this dribble another 5000 blacks perish from starvation in north east africa during the 15 seconds it took you to write that...6400 people died in europe just in car wrecks, lets not get too close to home it may hurt, as God is dead ...long live god ...see small 'g' as there is so little proof ...evidence, or Re-mark!

I believe in God, but there is none up in the sky. It's me. And before you misunderstand me, it's you too.
And if you realize this, we can worship each other, which is pointless because we can then act together as good as gear wheels and become one and basically non-existant to each other.

Can you just stop disagreeing? If people weren't to wait for God to appear and save the starving black childs, they wouldn't be.
God must act if he wants to see change. And that God is us, as a whole.

Okay. You are what you think and perceive. And if you think theres a "God" that is bigger than you, you become weakened and may find yourself in unfortunate situations.
(Maybe because you somewhat intentionally lost control over aspect of life, by giving "authority" to a god that exists only because you make him, and you feed him your power.)
