Anybody know what this is? No bugs. I get this about every 3 grows. Same soil, same nutes, same water. Pics are front and back of leaves.

I actually had this on one of the 2 plants I am growing. When I gave them Calmag+ it stopped happening, I think it is the calcium deficiency portion. They aren't really yellow so it's not manganese deficiency. Not heat, not copper, not boron, not Molybdenum, not phosphorus, not potassium, not sulfur, def not nitrogen, and not zinc. Hmmm I am almost positive that is a calcium problem.

Thank you very much HighLowGrow.

I am definitely going to use this method, I just have to find a place to romance my plant.

Or(!) can I be very careful, putting back the sprayed plant (2 plants in there)... I mean, how "contaminating" that pollen can be?
What if I watch for the sacks to develop, I put it into another box for a week (maybe?) before the pollen could spread, and if it's developed I cut that branch off, pollenate some buds ( I don't need more seeds than 30),
and put the plant back to my main grow box?

I think that would definitely work. Before I finished reading your post I was going to suggest cutting that branch off. Good thinking. It just takes good timing. It can be done.

30 seeds. Lol. You will get 30 seeds doing nothing. What I did was grow an AKR under CFLs in a small veg box I made. It was a seed run not for bud. That's what I would suggest. I had this box about 30 feet away from my main grow room. I did find seeds in my main grow room plants (about 12 so far in a qt lb). It's not that bad and they should all be fem anyway. I will be germing a few of these in 5 weeks or so to confirm fem.

That means if I do this method, and yet try to avoid getting seeds, I may have just about as much as I need :D

By the way, What age should "5-6inch" translate to? My plant is 18 days old, and just about 7" high.
At this stage I would consider it really hard not to accidentally spray the whole plant :D (it's looking compact?)

Anyways, I'll try to look for some colloidal silver. Is that right? I don't have access to TM, and if I buy from amazon or ebay the shipping cost would be twice the price of the product.

PS: right now I see 2 available product for me... A whole 2 to chose from :P
...Only 1 has info: 20ppm (that's all they cared to write about.) (The price translates to 12usd)

PSS: found another one, 50ppm for $34 (!!?) ...this is ridiculous!

I don't think that would be $5 shipping for me :P

I did, however find one for ~$17 that is: 10ml, 100ppm, particle size: 5-50nm, and is apparently used for sterilization of RO cleaners.

Can anyone tell if it fits for this use?
It definitely will, as I have no other options :D Already ordered with free shipping.

I live in the EU btw, in a country some of you may have not even heard of. (According to "Are you smarter than a 5th grader" lol)

So you buy TM and it costs you $60 or $80. You will never have to buy seeds again. I haven't bought seeds in a while, but last time I did they were about $10 a seed. You will have 200-400 seeds. Well worth the investment if you ask me.

I understand, the price just didn't seem right.
What I found afterwards -and also ordered- was a lot more like what I was looking for.

I'm saving for a HPS and some fans you know... :P

So... I've recieved my colloidal silver. It's 10ml at 100ppm.

Do you have any suggestions in terms of spraying? I have a really compact plant, and it would be almost impossible to spray just one branch.
Does only sacks grow on the affected areas? Or is there a varying number of flower and and sacks both present at the same place?

Thanks.

Here is what happens in a nutshell.

1. You spray a branch when the plant in 5-6 inches tall. See below. I believe this was 2 weeks after spraying.
2. Soon after that, sacs will form on the sprayed site bud.
3. Eventually pistals will start to turn brown on the sprayed site bud.
4. Keep an eye on the sacs daily. At some point they will open up and drop pollen.
5. Now you can simply turn the plant on its side with this treated branch on top and flick the treated site. Pollen will fall onto the pistals of other bud sites and create lots'O seeds.

OR you can do nothing. Seeds will grow on the treated branch anyway and everything below it. If you have even the slightest bit of air blowing around EVERYTHING WILL get seeded.

Or you can save some pollen and dust it on another plants pistals to create a cross.

In regards to the PPM. I have no idea what the concentration is in the TM. My spraying was very inconsistent. Sometimes I sprayed it 2 times and sometimes 5. And I sprayed ALL the branches. HAHA

Sorry the pics are not the best. These are the only two I have.

Thanks!
Just in time. I managed to somewhat seperate a branch for the procedure.
I will be using a quick growing, bushy plant, which otherwise looks like a hobo but seems to grow better (also to a more favourable shape shape).
I plan on germinating a seed now, and pollenate that when time comes.
I just hope I'll have the space. I originally planned to have 1 plant the first round, and soon it will be 3.

Can it take 1 month for my pollen to be ready if starting spraying now?
That would be optimal :)

Thanks for your help, and I hope I can too share my knowledge after I've finished.

Honestly I don't remember the exact time the pollen was ready. That sounds about right though. I'm pretty sure if pistals are present on a plant at anytime, you can dust them with pollen. That gives you a pretty big window.

You could always save the pollen in the fridge for future dusting. I have never saved pollen so you'll have to do a search.

I had this jalapeno growing in this room several months ago just for an experiment. It did fruit but didn't have room for it. I took it out of the room and didn't water it for about 2 months. I love to garden, so I thought what the hell. I'll water it and throw it near the 400hp. This is after about 5-6 days. It's going in the garden this year.

I grew this from seed.

The damn thing was DEAD..........

Not sure what you are asking. I run the 400 20/4 and keep the bulb roughly 14-18" above the bud sights. There are a couple sites that are getting bleached. Oops.

Whew! Just read all 22/23 pages. Thanks for keeping this going, HighLow! So many times these threads start out like wildfire and then nothing. No one ever knows what happened, OP disappears. It's much better this way.
